(( Cockpit of the Kerynitis, Space around DS224 ))
When several alerts started to go off in the cockpit, Zoyara turned to her team.
Vailani: Give me a status update?
Meris: ::alarmed:: Our port nacelle is losing power. I am adjusting power to the starboard nacelle to compensate. I believe we may have come in contact with a root of Mister Bergmen’s bloom.
Vailani: Let's try and avoid the subspace drifts. Lieutenant Bergmen can you keep an eye on them? Lets get the scans for the scientists and get back to DS224.
K’Wara/Bergmen: Response.
As the pilot worked to avoid the subspace drifts, Zoyara kept her eyes on the system data that was coming through and then refocused her efforts on the scans.
Meris: ::turning towards the others:: The diagnostic I've run indicates there is no physical damage to the nacelle or its components. I believe power flow was temporarily disrupted by the subspace distortions which caused it to lose power. I believe we can restart the port nacelle using our onboard systems and the functioning starboard nacelle as a primer. ::to Vailani:: Shall I proceed Lieutenant?
Vailani: Yes, Ensign. Tell us what you need?
Despite her initial misgivings she was slowly warming to the J’Naii. She was curious to see the process they'd adopt.
K’Wara/Bergmen: Response.
The pilot nodded and turned back to their console.
Meris: ::to K'Wara and Bergmen:: I will need your assistance. Lieutenant K'Wara please reprime the system by initiating a controlled flow of warp plasma from the main reactor to the port nacelle. ::to Bergmen:: Once Lieutenant K'Wara indicates the nacelle is primed, please open the plasma interlocks to allow power from the EPS grid to enter the nacelle. ::to Vailani:: Please monitor the system for plasma pressure stability and coil temperature to ensure we don't breach acceptable thresholds. Once the nacelle is primed, and the power is restored, I will perform the nacelle restart procedure.
Zoyara immediately began to give the ensign what they needed; she brought up the display that monitored the plasma coils and plasma valves.
K’Wara/Bergmen/Vailani: Response.
Vailani: Within acceptable limits. The plasma coil temperature is rising, activating the plasma coolant. Please begin the restart procedure ensign.
Meris: ::to Vailani:: Port nacelle is working again. However, with one nacelle corrupted I feel I would be remiss not to recommend that we return to Artemis. Our data so far should be sufficient for a preliminary analysis and Deep Space 224 surely has others who can continue where we've left off.
She reviewed the ships systems and they were stable, they were also within range to complete the scans.
Vailani: The scans have not completed Ensign so while we are here we will complete our objective :: looks to the Ensign :: Sometimes we need to work under less than ideal circumstances. We're not in immediate danger and we're monitoring the drifts.
She continued with the scanning, the results began to come through. One more left to go.
K’Wara/Bergmen/Meris: Response.
Vailani: Lieutenant Bergmen, what's happening with the subspace drifts?
K’Wara/Bergmen/Meris: Response.
As the final scan completed.
Vailani: Okay :: turns to Meris :: Now you can set a course for home.
