to USS Artemis-A – StarBase 118 Star Trek PBEM RPG
((USS Artemis, deck 11, Main Shuttlebay, Cockpit of the USS Galaktoboureko))
Vitor wasn’t exactly running. Or hiding. But given the chance to follow Sada on a survey mission and avoid being around his grandparents, or letting them be around the crew, that was a no brainer.
Risa was like a second home to Vitor, like Earth. But the memories of the last visit still cast a shadow in his mind, and this time his grandparents weren’t away.
So, he happily volunteered to go on a survey mission in the almost opposite direction.
He wondered why Sada had picked this particular shuttle, but maybe he could derust his piloting skills. It’s been a few years since he last piloted one of those.
He stepped in, backpack in one shoulder and tipped his head to Sada.
Silveira: I heard you could use a hand.
Imril/Morgan/Gnai: Response
Sadar: Oh! Uhh... H-Hello. I’m sorry, I didn’t expect-
Vitor smiled and heard the steps behind him. He stepped to the side, she was familiar, but he couldn’t didn’t remembered her name.
Vailani: Response
That looked like a good surprise to Sada.
Sadar: Vai-net!
Vitor smiled and nodded to the others.
Silveira: Looks like we have an interesting bunch here.
Morgan/Vailani: Response
Imril/Gnai: Response
Sadar: Y-Yeah, we’ll be ready to take off soon. Uhh... The sensors are reading green, but maybe Ensign Imril should do a final systems check before we take off? It would be a waste to go to Laoi III only to realize something’s wrong.
Imril: Response
Vitor looked at the forward section, wondering if Sada had already a designated pilot. He dropped his backpack, before turning to Sada.
Silveira: So, Lieutenant Sadar, what are we heading ourselves into?
Morgan/Gnai/Vailani: Response
Sadar: Well, there’s a few separate survey goals associated with our trip. ::gestures to the bunch of PADDs:: I have a project that I’m hoping to find some biological samples for, and I know the tactical department had some concerns regarding the interplay between the new sensors and the targeting arrays for the shuttle’s weapons systems?
Vitor smiled and tipped his head to Imril.
Silveira: Now that’s my language. And I assume I can count on your engineering skills Ensign Imril?
Imril: Response
Morgan/Gnai/Vailani: Response
He realized this could be an interesting mission after all, at least they had a very competent complement. Vitor pointed to the piloting seat as he turned to Sada.
Silveira: Is there a designated pilot, or can I take the spot.
Sadar: Response
He turned and winked at the others.
Silveira: You will all be in good hands.
Imril/ Morgan/Vailani/Gnai: Response
Vitor shrugged and headed to the pilot’s seat.
Silveira: A type eleven I only flew… Once. But they say it’s like riding a bike.
Sadar/Imril: Response
Morgan/Vailani/Gnai: Response
Vitor laughed as he took the pilot’s position. He tapped in the controls and began the preflight checks. Luckily the procedures were on his display, so he didn’t had to force much of his memory
Silveira: The expedition leader is Doctor Sadar, any complaints should be addressed to her.
Sadar/Imril: Response
Morgan/Vailani/Gnai: Response
