With Doctor Adea’s successful repair of Tho’Bi’s wound and the verification of the ensign’s duty placement orders, they could now get around to the more menial task of welcoming the new officer aboard.

MacKenzie: Well it seems everything is in order here… ::handing the PADD to Adea:: I suppose you can sign off on your portion of this.

Adea: There we go. 

Tho’Bi: ::nods at Adea:: Thank you, Doctor.  ::nods at MacKenzie:: Thank you, Captain.

MacKenzie offered a friendly smile and Genkos perched himself on the biobed to take the weight off his leg.

MacKenzie: Well, with that business taken care of, tell me a little bit about yourself. How did you find yourself to the Artemis?

Tho’Bi: My parents were both engineers in Starfleet.  I grew up on ships and stations.  Skies are nice, but I prefer Jefferies Tubes :: smiles ::

 

Genkos smirked and looked over at Addison, who managed to muster a half-smile and a slow nod.

 

Adea: What are the twinkling lights of a power conduit if not our version of the stars?

MacKenzie opened her eyes wide and offered a singular nod, struggling to conjure interest and agreement.

MacKenzie: I suppose you have a point, Doctor.

 

Tho’Bi: Response

 

Genkos pointed at his office door with the tip of his cane, before hefting himself up onto both feet.

 

Adea: My office is back there, Ensign - my door is always open to you. For now, however, I have other patients to see to, so I shall leave you in the Captain’s capable hands. ::he nodded to the Captain:: Addison. ::he nodded to Tho’Bi:: Ensign.

She offered a genuine smile, and with a swoosh of his teal lab coat, he headed back toward his office.

MacKenzie: So, Ensign… I imagine you’re up to speed with the Artemis systems and its latest mission logs?

Tho’Bi: Response

 MacKenzie: Very good, I’m glad to hear that. I assume that since you just beamed up, you haven’t had a chance to meet any of the others in your department yet?

Tho’Bi: Response

She nodded.

MacKenzie: I would recommend starting with Ensign Imril. He’s also relatively new to the ship.

Tho’Bi: Response

MacKenzie: Very good. Do you have any questions for me before I leave you to it?

Tho’Bi: Response
