With their work done, the rifles were stowed back on their racks and locked away with a security code. Even though access to the armory itself was restricted to those with the proper access codes, it still seemed right to keep the weapons further secured. Any lock could eventually be picked, so you might as well put two of them in the way of anyone wishing to commit any harmful acts.
Savel: I think we have satisfied the requirements of our assigned duty for today. Unless you can think of something else that we have missed?
Solas took a brief look around the office before ultimately shaking his head and turning back to Savel.
Kel: Not unless there’s some administrative part of the assignment we’re forgetting. Maybe make a note on the internal log that we’re done? But is that on us or the security chief?
Savel: We will need to submit a brief duty report to be looked over by the acting security chief. That will be the last thing we need to complete.
Sola smiled and leaned up against an empty wall.
Kel: Well unless you want to give some spit polish to the Type 2 phasers as well I think we can safely log our shift as over. Though as the greener ensign I hesitate to make that call myself.
Savel glanced over the armory just to make sure there was not something he'd forgotten that they needed to take care of. Nothing jumped out at him, so he was satisfied that they'd finished their work.
Savel: We have completed everything required here. Though, as I said, there is one final task that needs to be taken care of. As soon as we have finished the brief report we will be free to attend to other business. I believe it is customary for the "greener" officer to submit such required paperwork. I will still be around for some time to assist if necessary.
Kel: Response?
Savel moved to the exit of the armory but didn't immediately give the code to leave. Instead he looked back to Kel.
Savel: I look forward to working with you on future assignments, Ensign Kel.
Kel: Response?
After giving his access code when prompted, the doors to the armory opened and Savel walked out to head into the security center, not quite ready to leave work behind just yet.
