OOC: Sorry for being a fairly small and simple sim but I am out of power at my home, so I am simming on my phone.

IC:

((USS Artemis, deck 2,Holodeck 1))

Imril, their newest addition to the engineering department, had joined Vitor in the holodeck.
Mostly it was still a work in progress, basically the only thing the Arcade had was…
Well… Arcades
Imrill had suggested some pinball machines and Vitor nodded. So Imril it was. And pinball? That was a good idea.

Silveira: That’s an awesome suggestion Imril. I was already getting some pool tables. Pinball will fit nicely. Thank you.

Imril: Pool? That’s that game that’s like dom-jot but without all the fiddly bits, right? I don't know how much help I can be with that, but I can take a go at seeing which pinball games are already on-file in the ship’s computer. Maybe reach out to some folks I know who are still in the Academy, see if they can get ahold of any recreation files sitting around in some Earth database somewhere.

It looked like Imril was getting the spirit of it.
Vitor smiled and pointed to Imril.

Silveira: Are you busy? I might just recruit you over lunch.

Imril: I don't know about your schedule, but this is my lunch period. So recruit away.

Vitor widened his smile and opened his arms.

Silveira: I got all these machines, but I need a proper building and disposition for them. Since you're an Engineer… Also I overspent all my holodeck time today.

Imril: ::Looking over the chamber:: I could generate some ideas, I think. Well, have the holodeck throw some concepts at me, and whittle them into something presentable. Put together some architectural models for you to approve, or something.

Imril appeared to be already planning in his head. Vitor appreciated that. It gave him the impression that the Ensign was easy to focus on a task.

Imril: Maybe it’s my stomach talking, but did places like this have concession booths back in the1980s?

Vitor shrugged, from what he had researched not all of them did.

Silveira: I think some of them did. We can set something like that here, have it replicate some things we can eat and drink.

Imril: Oh, I could see putting up a tournament leaderboard over on the other side of the main arcade, opposite the door. The way I’m seeing things, it would be visible to nearly every spot…. Depending on how much bigger it gets.

A leaderboard? Well, he had set records on every one of these machines. Vitor was sure that the others would break them once everyone got used to it, but there would be a few of his signatures in there. He hadn’t seriously engaged in gaming.

Again, Vitor was glad for Imril’s enthusiasm. His first recruit appeared to be well picked.

Silveira: Big… Big enough to fill one of the walls. I see I have made a good choice in inviting you to join me in this project.

Imril: So is this program going to have all the games ready-to-play, or were you planning to go the ‘full immersion’ route and have people get tokens out of a machine?

Vitor shook his head and gestured to the arch.

Silveira: Nah… There isn’t any need to be that accurate or immersive. The arcades will have free access. But don’t let me take all your lunch time. Let’s head to the Elysium and have something to eat.

Imril: Response

Silveira: I like how you're jumping in the project. Get those plans in shape and we can try them and see how it works. You're having some good ideas.

Imril: Response

Vitor gestured for Imril to pass as he ordered the computer to save the program and they left the holodeck.

((USS Artemis, deck 2))

Silveira: So, tell me about yourself Imril. Where do you come from and how did you end up here?

Imril: Response
