((Vailani Zoyara Quarters 1785 - Deck 3 - USS Artemis-A))

Zoyara put her hands on her hips and looked at her quarters with a sense of accomplishment. The place actually resembled something of a home now that she had repaired the internal damage from the battle with the Orions, and placed a carving of The Brothers on the shelf next to the painted Horg’ahn she had made on Risa.

She had taken some items that she’d purchased on her recent visit to her people’s homeworld, a painting of Jalanda City filled one wall and several Bajoran textile softened up the otherwise very Starfleet furniture.

On the other wall, next to the small kitchen area, was a very poor recreation of an ancient mountain home - a place that only existed in her dreams. A woman, with golden hair much like her own, stood with her arms around three children. It was poorly constructed, no one would be lauding Vailani Zoyara with plaudits in artistry. The figures were clumsy blobs of paint and the greys of the mountain had bled into the green of the grass. Still, it meant something to her. This place was hers.

((OOC - refers to the events of a previous mission on the Ronin, sim here))

She took a much needed seat, prepared to relax and go over the departmental reports with a Deka Tea when there was a strange noise at the door to her quarters. She let out an exasperated breath, she had a feeling who this might be.

Vailani: Computer where is Ensign Tho’Bi?

Computer: Ensign Tho’Bi is located outside quarters 1785 on Deck 3.

She placed both hands on the sofa as she forced herself back to her feet. She realised that she was out of uniform, in a simple casual wrap top and trousers. She wasn’t sure why Tho’Bi was determined to be the bane of her life but she was about to do everything she could to encourage him to find a new hobby.

Before she was able to instruct the computer to open the door it made a strange noise ‘swoo-clunk-clunk-fu-fu-fu-fu-cluuuunk’. The door shuddered open on its own. Tho’Bi was standing on the other side.

Tho'Bi: ::quiet measured but on edge:: Hey, Lieutenant Vailani. ::apologetic tone:: I'm here to fix the door I broke.

Vailani: I would hope so, because any other reason for you idling outside my quarters would not end well for you, Ensign Tho’Bi. :: looks at his kit :: At least you’ve come prepared, I think this door might require some work.

Tho’Bi: Response

She looked back to her quarters.

Vailani: Actually the internal damage was minimal. Not that I had much in my quarters. And no you cannot come in. You can repair the door out there, I have just fixed the place up and I don’t want you … wrecking it.

She took a reluctant step outside and observed the door herself.

Tho’Bi: Response

She nodded as she looked up and inside the mechanism that attaches the door to the frame. She mused that for all the advancements in technology the way they operate doors has probably not differed much in hundreds of years.

Vailani: I agree, you may have to replace the frame - do you know how to do that?

A fair question in her estimation since he was the one that broke the door in the first instance.

Tho’Bi: Response
