(( Engineering, New Hope ))
Natasha was deep in thought as she looked over the culmination of her scans.
While she was trying to maintain a neutral demeanor but couldn’t help but let
out a hmm at the results.
Silveira: Ensign Cole, any results
regarding the lights?
Cole: Bear in mind I am not a medic.
That being said, these results are interesting, but also concerning. We should
definitely get checked out by Medical once we’re back on the Artimus.
Silveria took a deep breath.
Silveira: It never gets easier…
Cole: I should elaborate. ::pointing
to Tho’Bi:: As an Andorian Tho’Bi appears to be showing elevated levels of
dopamine, serotonin, and glutamate. Are you having any unusual feelings of
feeling over stimulated, euphoria or irritability?
Tho’Bi: ::slow uneven:: No… my ::points
at antennae:: spatial awareness is… fuzzy. But… ::swallow:: after a seizure
that happens.
Tho'Bi: ::looking around:: I do find
the colors to be very beautiful ::smiles:: perhaps that is connected to your
scans.
Silveira: Interesting.
Dariell appeared to be puzzled.
Cole: ::gesturing towards herself::
I am showing elevated Beta and Gamma waves. This would explain my alertness,
but this will likely result in insomnia, eye strain, and eventual neurological
fatigue.
Silveira: Makes sense.
Dariell seemed to be realizing what the away team was discussing.
Cole: ::looking at Silveria::
According to your scans, Sir. Yours are very similar to mine, however your
levels are in the range that might trigger Migraines.
Silveira: I know, trust me.
Dariell: you feel uneasy? I’m sorry
our comfort makes you uncomfortable. Perhaps because you are alien to our ways,
is that the reason?
Silveira nodded at them and gestured to the wreckage. They still have a job to
do.
Silveira: Well, one more reason to
get back to work. ::he turned to Cole:: Ensign please compile those scans and
see if you can send them back to the ship. ::turning to Tho’Bi and Dariell::
Let’s scan those damaged parts and see what we can learn from them.
Cole: Yes sir.
Tho’Bi:::to Dariell:: Perhaps your
team could ready four replacement Accelerator Generators for the Theta-Band
Subspace Transceiver.
Dariell: No, no, they would need to
go out, do EVA, your…DOG? No, DOT, was it DOT, right… it can rebuild the
replacement from spare parts we enable for it. They are basically a new
transceiver just to be collected for spare parts if needed, or as a whole piece
for piece, if we would lose the old one. So your DOT can collect the whole
complex or you can use your blue shimmer to transfer it closer…
Silveira’s combadge chirped as he shrugged.
Storm: =/\= Storm to
Silveira=/\=
The chief stepped aside to answer their call. While Natasha compiled her scans
and made sure everything was in order for Lieutenant Morgan and his team. As
she did she took an updated scan since they were in closer proximity to the
source.
((OOC: Keeping it for pacing, and because while Natasha wasn’t actively
listening in on the conversation, she would be awear it was taking place,))
Silveira: =/\= Silveira here.
Storm: =/\=The Captain would
like a status update on your group.=/\=
Munro: =/\= Commander, I'm eager to
have your return to the Artemis, how are the repairs coming along? =/\=
Silveira: =/\= Well, with the help
of one of our DOTs are repairing the Theta radiation leak. It’s something to do
with their accelerators, or generators. Once he isn’t busy I can have Ensign
Tho’Bi sending you the details. We also recovered the damaged parts and are
analysing it. There are signs of a potential sabotage. Also, Ensign Cole found
out some of the lighting system interferes with our physiology.
Storm: =/\= Really?
That’s … significant=/\=
Munro: =/\= Yes :: beat :: The Yurum
are particularly sensitive to touch telepathy as well. Or at least Lt Storm
was. =/\=
Silveira: =/\= It affects us
differently than it does the Boraxians. There are some side effects but I don’t
think it's dangerous unless we spend an abnormal amount of time here. I asked
Ensign Cole to collect her findings and send it back. I suggest informing the
other away team.
Munro: =/\= Noted. Do you have any
idea who may have sabotaged the ship and why? =/\=
Storm: =/\= It might help us as we
prepare for the likelihood of a city ship descending on us. =/\=
Silveira: =/\= My gut feeling says
that Ensign Cole has the right theory about that. I believe the damage, if
deliberate, was meant to make New Hope
traceable or at least easily detected.
Munro: =/\= I was hoping for some
good news. Commander please continue with those repairs and return to the
Artemis as soon as they are complete. =/\=
Storm: =/\= Time to start assuming
this city ship will show up sooner rather than later.=/\=
Silveira: =/\= Understood Captain.
Silveira out.=/\=
Tho'Bi: ::via PADD:: Return to
Artemis.
With Tricorder in hand, Tho’Bi waited for the Combadge exchange to end before
addressing the Lieutenant Commander.
Tho'Bi: ::to Silveira:: Sir, the DOT
has completed the repair work of the transceiver and has returned to Artemis.
::nods in direction of the subchamber below warp core:: We need only now purge
the Warp Core Waste Storage Tanks ::beat:: and the Theta-Band Radiation problem
should be resolved.
Silveira: Good, let’s proceed, we
are to return as soon as we are finished with the repairs. ::He turned to Cole
and pointed to the wreckage parts that Tho’Bi had beamed aboard:: Ensing Cole,
scan what you can of these.
Cole: On it.
Natasha finished up the scans of the effects of the lights, and began scanning
the wreckage, slowly circling it methodically scanning all of it.
Dariell: And we are glad for your
help, and giving the praise to your Engineer, Tho’Bi.
Tho'Bi: ::holding up Tricorder:: The
damaged Accelerator Generators show signs of harmonic detuning and phase
inversion. ::beat:: This caused the Theta-Band Radiation to leak back into the
supply line.
Silveira: And have you found out how
that happened?
Cole: ::confirming scan:: We have
enough that if needed we can recreate an accurate recreation on the Holodeck. Also
I have updated and compiled the scans for Lieutenant Morgan and his team.
Tho'Bi: A combination of quench
footprints and dielectric carbonization indicates a build up of Theta-band
Radiation four times that of normal. ::beat:: in simple terms, the system was
overloaded ::beat:: either through technical error, accident, or sabotage.
Silveira: Okay… What’s the next
step?
Looking towards Tho’Bi waiting for an answer.
Tho'Bi: ::to Silveira:: I recommend
we purge the Warp Core Waste Storage Tanks immediately.
Dariell: Yes, as your engineer said,
sooner we purge them, sooner things become better.
Silveira: Let’s get to it then.
Cole: ::holding up her tricorder::
Quicker we do, the quicker we can review this data.
Daeiell smiled and pointed to the door from the Engineering to usher the Away
team out.
Dariell: Thank you for your
continuous help, Lieutenant Commander. We can move and finish the repair in the
subchamber.
Silveira turned to Tho’Bi with a shrug.
Silveira: Let’s do this quickly, I
want us back on the Artemis as fast as we can.
Cole: I second that. ::rubbing her
eyes::
Tho’Bi: Response
Natasha followed Tho’Bi and Dariell through the doorway towards their next
task. Keeping herself close just in case the Chief needed her assistance. She
was looking forward to getting back to the Artemis.
