((CMO’s Office, Sickbay, USS Artemis-A))

Commander Genkos pulled the tricorder out of his desk drawer and snapped it open to start scanning Solas. As he ran the device over his patient, he started to ask some questions.

Adea: Anything to report, any aches, pains, odd fluids?

Solas took a moment to think.

Kel: No obvious physical problems to report sir. A bruise from where Lieutenant Savel stunned me and maybe some others here are there but nothing else to report. At least, not that I know of.

The commander nodded.

Adea: Indeed, I can take care of those before you go. And what about emotionally - I saw that you were assimilated; is that affecting you?

Kel: Well, no sir. I don’t remember anything after the assimilation was complete. Savel hitting me was the last thing I remember. So asides from his shot I can’t remember any other erm….damage I might have taken during the incident. Is that unusual?

The commander paused his scanning for a moment.

Adea: A little, I must admit. You don’t remember any of it?

Solas screwed up his face as he tried to remember anything from the assimilation. No clear and precise memories came back to him but vague sensations and locations were buried in there somewhere.

Kel: Just Savel stunning me, vague orders and getting blasted with that has outside of sickbay.

Adea: I understand. I’m still going to recommend you make an appointment for a session with Jashkaa or any of our other counsellors. You’ve been through an ordeal, even if you don’t remember it, and amnesia can leave scars all the same.

Although Solas bristled at the idea of unearthing hidden memories of his assimilation he also knew that wanting to keep repressed memories repressed was a sign of some emotional damage.

Kel: I think Lieutenant Sadar mentioned a counselor would be getting in touch with me soon. I’ll um….I’ll try to start that healing process soon.

The Commander looked at him in a way that Solas was almost sure indicated skepticism.

Adea: Response

Kel: No sir I mean it. I have some things I need to work out and I’d rather not avoid it. I don’t imagine my counselor will have an easy time with me but I’m not going to pretend there’s nothing wrong with me either.

The commander continued to look at Solas with a skeptical eye and made a note. Solas didn’t know what he’d written but he was pretty sure he wouldn’t like it.

Adea: Response

Feeling a little awkward, Solas tapped his fingers against his thighs. He was suddenly quite eager to move on with the examination.

Kel: Um well while I have you scanning me do you see any signs of a concussion or something? I know I hit my head pretty hard when I passed out during the attack?

Adea: Response
