Genkos pursed his lips, amused at the switcheroo Gnai had pulled - Genkos should take his own advice - the last time he had visited DS9 he had not stepped on board the station for a moment. Or if he did, he certainly didn’t remember it. Genkos sat forward, a finger raised as if having an idea.

Adea:  ~ Why don’t you join me for a stroll along the arboretum? Tomorrow, about midday? I can bring Toto and we could get lunch? ~

Gnai paused, clearly considering the offer. Genkos tried not to be offended that it wasn’t an instant yes; but then if he was an ensign again, he might not be eager to just spend time with one of the senior staff. But then, it slowly started to pulse with a dim light.

Gnai: ~ That sounds good. Who is... Toto? ~

Adea: ~ Ah, that would be my dog. ~

Genkos wondered if the Galadorans had pets on their world, although he suspected not. He was considered an unusual Betazoid for having a pet himself.

Gnai: ~ I ::whole:: have had little interaction with canines... ::pause:: That isn't to say that I ::partial:: wouldn't be interested in meeting one...? ~

Adea: ~ Don’t fret, Toto is very friendly. Let’s meet at 13:00 hours? ~

Gnai: ~ Thank you for the reassurance. That works for me ::partial:: then. ~

Adea: ~ Fantastic, it’s a plan ~

Gnai: ~ Is this check-up done now, sir? ~

Genkos looked momentarily surprised as he realised that was the whole reason Gnai was in his office. He glanced down at the tricorder in his hand. He shrugged.

Adea: ~ You’re good. I shall see you tomorrow, Ensign ~

With Gnai dismissed, Genkos then turned back to his desk, replacing the tricorder back in the drawer it belonged in. He then settled himself down in his chair, and sipped the tea he had replicated himself. It was mercifully still warm, which it wasn’t always after an appointment. He couldn’t count the times he had wasted a good cup of tea…

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
