(( The Swoon Spoon – Deck 229, Deep Space 224 ))
Sam stood firmly in front of the giant board that listed all the flavors. It was fairly expansive and that only made the choice harder. They all sounded good, but she had to pick one that stood out from the others.
MacKenzie: What are you going to have?
Richards: I think I’m going for the Cotton Candy Class Starship. It has little star sprinkles on top. I’m a sucker for cotton candy flavored things. Something catch your eye Doctor?
She shrugged and locked in with her choice.
Cole: That does sound good, I still need a moment.
MacKenzie: Too many choices. I love raspberry, and Raspberry Riker Ripple was one of the first things I heard Samantha say, so I have to stop there.
Richards: Riker is always a good choice if you know what I mean.
She smiled and chuckled as she nudged Natasha.
Cole:I’m going to have the Warp Core Breather, though I am partial to the Nebula Swirl.
MacKenzie: Let’s do it.
The crowd near the counter had dispersed enough that the three women were able to make their way up and place their orders. Sam held the brightly colored pink and blue cone covered in silver star sprinkles and gestured towards a small empty table inside the shop.
She got situated in the metal chair and gave her ice cream a lick.
Richards: This is pretty good. Sprinkles leave a little something to be desired, but it’s not bad all in all.
Cole: That is a shame, those are supposed to be the best part, next to whipped cream. ::smiling::
MacKenzie shrugged.
MacKenzie: Mine’s pretty good. Hits the spot after that hasparat.
Sam smiled and looked up at the two women a bit sheepishly.
Richards: Thanks for having dinner with me. ::Gesturing to the shop:: And ice cream. It’s been nice.
Cole: Anytime. ::licking her cone:: This has been fun.
MacKenzie: Agreed. I always look forward to trying new food.
Cole: Plus I appreciate the opportunity to make new friends. I hope I’m not overstepping by saying that. ::glancing between the two women::
The Captain held up her cone in support of the statement, Sam followed suit and held hers up too. She knew the chance to be legitimate friends with her was probably a bit of a pipe dream, but would happily take what she could get.
Nat on the other hand she did envision them becoming close friends. She was funny and pleasant to be around in a way that Sam really enjoyed.
Richards: You can call me a friend. ::Smirking:: I could use a few of those.
Another crowd began to form in front of the ice cream shop.
Cole: ::nodding towards the crowd:: Looks like we times it just right between their rushes.
MacKenzie: ::holding up what remained of her cone in a toast-like gesture:: Our lucky day.
Sam happily munched away at her ice cream, she wasn’t sure if it was the coldness or the sugar, but both of the twins began to kick and roll.
Richards: ::Rubbing her belly:: Ope, seems like they like it too.
MacKenzie had smiled to herself and wiped her face to catch the remnants of ice cream.
MacKenzie: That hit the spot.
Richards: Agreed. What a way to end the evening.
Cole: Response
The Captain sat forward in her chair.
MacKenzie: What do you two have planned for the rest of your evening?
Richards: ::Chuckling:: I haven’t thought that far ahead yet.
Sam glanced at Nat, awaiting her response.
Cole: Response
MacKenzie: Unfortunately I’ve got a few reports that need my attention before the end of the night, so this is where I take my leave. ::bowing slightly:: Thank you for the meal and the company. Next time, maybe a milder version of hasparat…
MacKenzie smirked at Natasha before turning around and heading back towards the Artemis.
Sam let out a long sigh and leaned back in her chair.
Richards: I suppose I should probably call it a night. All that food made me sleepy.
Cole: Response
Sam smiled as she eased herself up off the chair.
Richards: Have a good night Nat. ::Pointing towards her:: We have to do something again together before we leave 224.
Cole: Response
With a wave and a very steady waddle, Sam moved back towards the ship.
TAG/END Scene for Sam!
