((Elysium, Deck 5, USS Artemis))
Being stuck in another universe was suboptimal, but if one were to find themselves in that state, one should take the advantage of the technologically more advanced nations that lived there. But to find back home with souvenirs, one needed information and allies. And to gain those, Jovenan had decided to rely on her selective HUMINT skills.
Jovenan: ::perky:: Hi! May I join you?
The human Commonwealth officer lowered the PADD and smiled at, gesturing her to sit down.
Olivera: Of course, please have a seat.
Complying, Jovenan joined him by the table. She knew him from the Desdemona, but not too well. A reintroduction before business was in place.
Jovenan: We met on the Desdemona, but if you don’t remember me, I’m Jovenan!
Olivera: One can never forget such beauty. Victor Olivera, but please call me Vik. A pleasure to be reacquainted with you, Jovenan.
Beauty? He certainly wasn’t being shy with her. That was only good for her, she only needed to slightly adjust her tactics and go for it. No need for faux coyness, just go for it.
Jovenan: ::giggle:: Nice to meet you again! ::looks around:: They have a very nice ship! Have you seen much of it yet? I have only just started to explore it. I hit my head on the shuttlepod and been recovering in my quarters since.
Olivera: I am happy that you recovered. I truly haven't seen much besides my quarters and the common areas. ::he leaned forward with a grin:: I would love to see their weapons facilities, but we don't have access to those.
It seemed she was right in sense that Vik was interested in this universe’s advanced weaponry. It just seemed she was too early in questioning him, or that he hid what he knew.
Jovenan: Really? What a pity. They seem so open about everything else.
Olivera: In a way it's understandable. But they took care of that Shint ship with more ease than we. I am just curious.
That’s what had piqued Jovenan’s curiosity as well. The reality weapons were extremely advanced and theoretically complex, but as weapons they were hardly a match to whatever these Federation aliens used. Jovenan wondered what it required for them to get the Federationists to open up. She glazed at Vik. At this point it seemed he knew little more about the weapons, but he was still a useful asset. Perhaps she could further enforce their connection by making them appear being on the same side.
Jovenan: Maybe there’s something we can do to persuade them…
Vik raised a finger towards the door. Jovenan turned her head to see what he was pointing at. By the entrance, she could see a man, dressed in a yellow-shoulder uniform of the Starfleet. He seemed like Vik, but younger. Not just “lived a healthy, stress-free life” kind of younger, but genuinely several years Vik’s junior. She turned back to Vik.
Olivera: I tried talking with my counterpart but he is pretty adamant about it. Have you met him? Maybe I can introduce you if you so desire?
Jovenan: ::smirks:: I’d love that.
Vik raised his hand, waving to his doppelganger to join them. Maybe a bit hesitant at first, the alternate universe Vik adopted a smile as he approached the two reality hoppers.
If he was anything like Vik of her reality, things shouldn’t be too difficult for her.
Olivera: Jovenan, let me introduce you to the Artemis Chief Tactical Officer, and the man that destroyed the Shint Battleship, Lieutenant Vitor Silveira. Sil this is Jovenan.
Ah, not only was he familiar with the weapons systems, but he was also the very person responsible in using them. If Jovenan could get through to him, she would have stricken a jackpot. Silveira bowed, before shooting a smile at Jovenan.
Silveira: Vik flatters me, but if it's a way to impress you Jovenan I will gladly take it. And please call me Sil. Or Vitor. Or anytime you need.
Jovenan responded to his smile. Sil was even less shy than Vik. He was the one to flirt with her! This will be fun. She leaned in towards him, resting her head against her open palm and played with a string of her hair with her fingers.
Jovenan: ::giggles:: Nice to meet you, “anytime”! So, you are the hero that saved my life. If you hadn’t been here, I would have died in that shuttlepod.
Silveira/Olivera: Response
Jovenan inched closer to him. She studied his face close by and made sure he noticed her doing so as well. Her eyes went to his dark, curly hair; blue eyes that were youthful yet somehow full of experience; dorky smile. The lower part of his face was covered by short stubble, much better maintained than Vik’s unshaven, uneven bristle. She let her eyes linger on his upper body before turning them back to his eyes to see if he had noticed her gaze. She hoped he liked flattery.
Jovenan: No, the Shint are extremely dangerous. You must be very brave to fight them. ::flutters eyelashes subtly:: There must be something I can do to repay saving my life.
Silveira/Olivera: Response
Not leaning on her hand anymore, she lowered it on the table. As she did so, she moved it close to his hands, “accidentally” touching them. The hands touched for a few seconds, much longer than by sheer coincidence, before she pulled it away slowly.
Jovenan: Your ship is amazing, we don’t have anything like it. Maybe you could give me a tour… or show me your favourite spot. I’d like to see where you keep the big guns.
Now let’s see how he reciprocated to her very unsubtle flirtation.
