((Jem'Hadar Transport Craft | Above Medara - Betazed ~2376))

Savel sat in the pilot's chair of their gifted shuttle. There may have been a more qualified person on board who could have taken the controls, but Jaseb wasn't in a state to be at the stick right now. None of the symbols on the displays were legible to the Vulcan's eyes, so he just had to make his best-educated guess on what things did or did not do.

Thankfully, the shuttle was powered on with its cloak engaged, so he didn't have to sort through commands to figure that part out. Instead, he could focus on engaging the flight controls themselves. He may not have been able to decipher all of the words on the displays, but movements shouldn't need translation. Up was up, and down was down for every species flying ships around—at least one would hope.

Savel: I will attempt to bring us within range of the Artemis. Our sensors will likely not provide much information, but they should at least tell us if any of our crew's life signs are on board.

Chevalier: Or Dominion…

Dakora: Response

With the resistance group clear of the craft, Savel reached for what he assumed was the throttle and gave it some power. At the same time, he pulled back on the flight controls to aim them, hopefully, away from the ground. Thankfully, that lifted the shuttle away from the terrain below them, and they started to make their cloaked ascent for a few moments.

Even if the alarm's tone was foreign, it was still designed to let everyone know there was a problem. Savel couldn't tell exactly what it was at first. He didn't catch what was getting ready to fail, so there was no time to get ahead. Seconds after the alarm sounded, their cloak was gone, and they could be seen on sensors and with the naked eye. Unluckily for them, both things were plentiful in this part of Medara, thanks to the noise they'd made.

Savel: Our cloak has malfunctioned. We are now visible.

Jem'Hadar: Unidentified transport. Land your craft immediately or suffer consequences.

"Consequences" was the 'nice' way of saying they would be shot down if they didn't comply with the order.

Dakora: Response

Chevalier: Savel!

As Savel turned to consult with the team about how they should respond, that choice was taken away from them. Another alarm sounded from the display in front of him, warning of a problem approaching from outside the ship. Before he could react, even with superior reflexes, their shuttle was struck with something fired by the Jem'Hadar. Someone had overridden the order to allow them to comply with an order of surrender. Whoever was in charge wanted them taken out, making them a mess to be cleaned up later instead of a potential threat to worry about now.

The transport made a less-than-graceful descent towards the ground below, shortening a few of the trees in the forest they had just been flying over. Each impact with one of the trees violently shook the craft, and the metal exterior shattered the wood. When they finally met the ground, they were at least spared a tumble to their stopping point as the shuttle dug into the ground, creating a giant rut in the earth as it dragged its way to stop.

As the ship finally settled, everyone seemed mostly intact. Savel immediately unfastened the belts holding him in place on his seat so he could jump up. He then offered a quick visual inspection of both Talos and Jaseb.

Savel: If you are still able, now would be the most opportune time to run. Very quickly. There will be whitebloods here soon.

Jaseb's expression revealed that he wasn't thrilled about being on the run from the Jem'Hadar again. Neither was the Vulcan.

Dakora: Response

The inside of the craft was a complete mess. Everything that had been stored away was not where they'd left it. All the gear they'd taken with them was scattered across the interior, so it took Savel a moment to find a still-functional weapon. Once he found one, he moved to the rear passenger compartment and hit the release for the ramp. It creaked and groaned, but eventually, it slowly lowered itself to the ground—enough that they could get out of it, at least.

Savel: We will need to travel lightly to move swiftly and clear the area of our crash site. If we take too long, we will be surrounded and have no way to escape.

Dakora/Chevalier: Response

Savel searched the inside of the shuttle once more and found a medical pack. It only had basic supplies, but it would be better than nothing if Jaseb ended up worsening or someone else picked up an injury. He put the strap over his shoulder and took his disruptor rifle in both hands before stepping out of the craft.

The sight that greeted him wasn't pleasant. More vessels similar to the one he'd just crashed were circling above. Thanks to the thick forest canopy, it looked like they couldn't quite pinpoint the crash location right away, but that wouldn't be true for long.

Savel: ::to Dakora:: Are you familiar enough with this area to suggest a direction of travel? Perhaps an even denser part of the forest? ::then to Jaseb:: If your wound prevents you from operating a weapon, please remain close to me. I will keep you covered.

Dakora/Chevalier: Response
