It was perhaps a bit out-of-the-ordinary, but Tamio found that doing just the standard rounds continued to be their favorite task as Ops Chief. The higher you got in a department, the more the more interesting and amusing tasks were removed from your plate and got replaced with soulless PADDs. Even now, a veritable Mont Olympus waited for them back in their office, but they knew too well that the mountain never truly ended. A new PADD would simply spawn to take the completed task’s place...

So, for now, they were procrastinating. And they were procrastinating by walking around the various areas of their Department, just touching base with everyone. It gave them a real in-person look at how their colleagues were doing, and it allowed them just a peek at the reality where fun tasks were still the main portion of the day.

Mirha: Ensign Gavrin Tarsan standing by to transport, Sir.

K’Wara: ::slight groan:: Tamio. ::shakes their head:: Go ahead.

The massive Nuvian Transporter Chief activated the transporter, bringing aboard the newest addition to the Artemis’ crew roster. Tamio smiled at the Betazoid who now materialized on the Transporter PAD, waving jovially towards them.

K’Wara: Welcome aboard, Ensign! I’m Lieutenant Tamio K’Wara, and I shall be your guide today!

Tarsan: Response

The Transporter Chief behind the smiling Cygnian sent them a look, but as Tamio was unaware of it, the look was soon replaced by a facade of professionalism as Tamio gestured for Gavrin to follow them out of the Transporter Room. They waved behind them as they exited.

K’Wara: Keep up the good work, Ilio!

And then, the door slid shut.

K’Wara: How was the trip over from Starbase 118? Not too bumpy, I hope?

Tarsan: Response

K’Wara: Well, you hit us at just the right time, Gavrin. Shore leave’s just started, and Rylor is shaping up to be quite the tropical getaway. Sounds like a pretty great way to celebrate your graduation, if you ask me.
