(( Counsellor's Office - Deck 7, USS Artemis-A ))

Gila was trying to be forthcoming with the counselor, she really was. She informed the counselor of her preferred shore leave (she was promptly ordered to take her nephew to a museum) and then she was questioned on her preferred relaxation activities, which she also shared. She was expected to, of course.

If only Lt. Commander Jashkaa didn’t insist on analysing her every word, but alas, evídently that was an unreasonable ask.

Jashkaa: I assume that’s because cooking involves following a set order of instructions. ::she raised a slender forefinger:: I recommend you schedule some time for both swimming and cooking over the next few days.

oO And what’s wrong with liking to follow instructions? I thought that was what we are supposed to do! Oo

She didn’t dare say that out loud, though.

Sadar: Y-Yes, I... I suppose so. I-I will do these things. A-As for the survey mission?

She shouldn’t have asked. Gila knew the moment those words left her mouth, as Lt. Commander Jashkaa sent her an unimpressed expression that could rival even the most scathing of frowns from the Captain herself.

What was it with women in the upper ranks on the Artemis? Lt. Commander Jovenan aside, all of them were prickly at best...

Jashkaa: We still have a few minutes left, Gila.

Sadar: ::dejected:: Y-Yes Sir.

More homework was coming, and Gila knew she would not like it.

Jashkaa: With cooking, would you be up to hosting a dinner party - a few friends, a few drinks, a home cooked meal?

Gila felt familiar panic build in her chest at the notion of subjecting others to her cooking, especially with all the different nutritional needs and flavor preferences between all the various aliens aboard the Artemis, not to mention that she could never anticipate how the recipes turned out due to often needing to use substitute ingredients since the replicators couldn’t replicate Mizarian ingredients-

Sadar: Wh-Wh-Wh-

She took a deep breath (which was honestly intensely shallow and hurried, but the intent was there!).

Sadar: N-no, not at all, I-I’m a dabbler, an amateur! I-I would never-

Jashkaa: Response

She paused. Perhaps there was a way out of this!

Sadar: ... W-Well... I, uhh... I-I technically hosted an Aailudet last shore leave? ... An, uhh... A ‘housewarming’? The food was replicated...

Jashkaa: Response

Gila tried to reign in her rampant anxiety at the notion of inviting people to her home for the express purpose of eating her cooking. But between Lt. Commander Jovenan, Sil-net and Vai-net, all three of whom had in actuality eaten her cooking before, surely she could find a way to accomplish this insurmountable task?

If not, her trip to the Laoi system was in severe jeopardy, and she needed some way to get away from this den of hedonism and scandal!

Sadar: ... I-I could... T-Try...

Jashkaa: Response
