((Armory | Deck 08 | USS Artemis))
As Solas looked over the Type 3 phase rifle he had picked up, he inspected the weapon's status display panel. He frowned.
Kel: Well that’s interesting, this one appears to be mostly discharged. The battery might need replacing.
Savel: There should be a small stock in the workbench, if not, it will be easily replicated.
After a small pause during which Solas found and started to replace the battery pack, the senior ensign continued.
Savel: What has been your experience as a crew member of the Artemis to date? Have you found it acceptable?
Solas paused for a moment, as he considerred the adventure they’d undertaken recently and thought of a good way to answer whether it had been acceptable or not.
Kel: I would prefer if our future adventures involved less time travel and Jem’Hadar, but I suppose beggars can’t be choosers, as they say on earth.
It seemed that their conversation would be more casual than indepth, as Ensign Savel picked up his rifle and joined Solas in performing matinenance on his rifle.
Savel: You have certainly had a unique introduction to life onboard a Starfleet vessel. I would propose the possibility that the ship's next assignment will be of a more routine nature, but I'm afraid that would not be accurate. I have yet to embark on a mission with the Artemis that I would describe as normal, or mundane.
Solas allowed himself to smile at that, snapping the new battery into place and beginning a standard check on the rest of it’s components.
Kel: That part I was prepared for. Starfleet Academy prepares you for things to go sideways, upside down, and inside out. It actually drew me to Starfleet in the first place. Certainly more interesting than joining the dry science academy back on Vulcan.
Savel: Response
Giving his rifle one last look over, he paused and offered it to Savel.
Kel: Well, that’s one down. What do you think? Good enough to go back on the rack?
Savel: Response
