Genkos paused for a moment as the ramifications of what it was saying fell upon his ears. It took him a little bit of effort to parse the differences between Gnai referring to itself as opposed to Galadorans as a whole. It was a curious verbal (or in this case, mental) tick.

Adea: ~ What about from a purely educational or academic standpoint - do you have students of Galadoran biology? ~

Gnai: ~ Yes, biologists do exist. It’s just not something that I ::partial:: am interested in. But it is a course of study that exists. Someone has to study to find ways to improve my ::whole:: quality of life. ~

Genkos was fascinated by that different perspective - of course medicine was in effect about improving the quality of life of its recipients, but he suspected most people would see medicine as cure rather than prevention. An interesting divergence of opinion.

Adea: ~ What a compelling difference between your world and mine - I think I can see why you have difficulties understanding my occupation ~

Gnai: ~ Sorry. It’s hard sometimes to explain what my ::whole:: society is like. There are things that seem normal but then I ::partial:: learn that they are unique to Galador. ~

Genkos shook his head dismissively.

Adea: ~ Not at all, Gnai - no need to apologise. And that’s the beauty of what the Vulcans call IDIC - infinite diversity in infinite combinations. ~

Gnai: ~ What’s Betazed like then? I ::partial:: was only there briefly to transfer to the Artemis. Before CloQ snapped me ::partial:: into the past. ~

Genkos inclined his head as he considered the question, and how best to describe his home planet. Did he miss it? He hadn’t been back, excluding CloQ related excursions, in quite a while and he found that he didn’t feel the need to go back, especially as his mother was no longer planetside.

Adea: ~ I’m sure everyone says their home planet is beautiful, and I am no different. It’s a matriarchy, which is unusual in this part of the universe. It means that the females of the species are more dominant - at least historically ~

Gnai: ~ Response ~

At that moment, the bushes ahead of them rustled violently for a moment, before Toto appeared a foot in the air. He flew through the leafy bush, bursting through the foliage with gay abandon. When he came skittering to a halt at Genkos’ feet, the doctor knelt down to stroke his head and recoiled when his hand went into something sticky.

Adea: What have you got all over you boy? Is that sap?
