((Cockpit of the USS Galaktoboureko - Deck 11, Main Shuttlebay, USS Artemis-A))

Zoyara had spent much of her time on the Ronin within its Flight Operations Centre, so it was for this reason she seemed to adopt the role of flight deck liaison for the small group of scientists and explorers.

Vailani: The bridge has cleared us for launch, Lieutenant.

Morgan: You heard her, Vitor. Let’s get this show on the road.

Despite her friends pleas to ‘let it go’ in regards to Lieutenant Silveira’s wilful neglect of any flight operational protocol, she was glad to hear her friend speak up.

Sadar: ::to Sil-net:: If you even scratch the Artemis, you’re the one who gets to explain it to the Captain.

Firstly, this was Gila’s mission. Secondly, it was another example of how far the Mizarian had come from when they first met. Zoyara had rescued the timid doctor from the incessant requests of another officer. That Gila would never have cautioned Silveira.

With a surprisingly graceful launch, the shuttle flew from the Artemis.

Silveira: Here we go, opening sails.

Zoyara smiled only because it reminded her of the Bajoran lightships that she'd seen in the museum when she visited Jalanda last. The beautiful recreation of the golden sails hung above the main hall.

Imril/Morgan/Gnai: Response

As the shuttle approached the departure coordinates their de facto pilot spoke.

Silveira: Alright everyone this is your pilot speaking, keep your seatbelts fastened until further notice, and enjoy the ride.

Imril/Morgan/Gnai: Response

Vailani: :: to Gila :: We've arrived at the departure coordinates. Clear of the Artemis’ warp bubble.

Gila nodded in response.

Sadar: Sil-net, Warp 5 to the Laoi system, please.

Silveira: Get ready to warp.

Imril: Response

(( In Space - Laoi System, Minos Korva Sector, Alpha Quadrant ))

Zoyara wasn't known for being a patient person. It was something that she was forced to work on, especially now that she was a department chief. It did not mean she had to like it.

Patience, in her view, meant swallowing other people's inefficiencies and ignoring flaws. Two things she was not good at.

After a week trapped inside a shuttle with a group of strangers and her friend Gila, Zoyara was just about done with the whole concept of patience. So it was good fortune that they had arrived.

She'd taken to the co-pilot station on approach beside Silveira, who'd taken to calling her Zoy.

Annoying in the sense that it reminded her of Ian, and more so because she didn't want to think of Ian when she was beside such a loathsome man.

Vailani: Approaching on vector 2, 5.

Silveira: Response

Gila positioned herself between Zoyara and Silveira as they entered the Laoi system. She'd been playing mediator almost the entire week.

Morgan/Gnai/Imril: Response

Sadar: ::forced excitement:: Okay! It’s time to get our testing underway! ::to Ensign Imril:: How’s the data on the solar radiation coming in, Ensign? Are the sensors working to parameters?

Zoyara was keen for the Bactrican ensigns answer. They'd spent some time over the days travelling here working on ways to streamline the shield effectiveness so that they could get as close as possible to the star.

Imril/Silveira: Response

Morgan/Gnai: Response

Vailani: Reconfiguring the shield modulation. A variance of 0.16. As long as the radiation stays within that range then the shuttle's systems should remain operational.

Morgan/Gnai: Response

Imril/Silveira: Response

As the shuttle neared the star system, and the inside of the cockpit began to glow in the light of the systems sun, she left the co-pilot seat and moved next to Imril to look at his station.

Vailani: The shields are holding. If we adjust the sensor by 0.8 we might increase the depth :: turns to Gnai :: Lieutenant Gnai we'll try to give as much power to the sensors as we can but we need to maintain structural integrity.

She knew that the Galadoran was keen to study the readings coming from the unusual radiation, she'd seen them studying the readings that had been sent over on several occasions.

Morgan/Gnai: Response
