(( Bridge, USS Artemis-A, “Present Day” ))

Ensign Chevalier was preparing himself for the worst as he approached Commander Adea with his plan. He fully anticipated the commander yelling, questioning his sanity, or outright dismissing his proposal. However, what he didn't expect was for the commander to approve his plan. The surprise and relief he felt were palpable, and he couldn't contain his excitement after finally receiving the green light, despite some hiccups along the way.

Yellir: Then why don’t we let them follow us? They’ll be as blind as we are in this nebula, so why don’t we lay out some breadcrumbs? Say, we leave a few quantum torpedoes in their path.

Adea: A little trap you mean, I like it.

After Chevalier's proposal failed initially, they were able to turn the situation around by transforming their weak systems into an advantage. Jaseb took a deep breath and felt a sense of calm that allowed him to focus. He considered Lt. Yellir's proposal and felt a surge of excitement at the possibility of making it a reality. With determination, he began to strategize, carefully weighing the options to ensure a favorable outcome. He understood that every decision would have an impact on the final result, and he was committed to weighing the scales in their favor as possible.

Chevalier: If we can lure our enemy to a specific location, we can dispatch multiple modified probes along with quantum torpedoes. By having a rough idea of their location, we can aim our frequency pulse through the probes and avoid then using our ship's primary systems. This way, we can prevent the destabilization of the warp core. This strategy will allow us to take out our enemy while minimizing damage to our own ship.

Kel: Response?

Yellir: Is there anything we can do to make us more visible to their telepathy? It might make us a bit more captivating of a target.

As the lieutenant posed her question, Jaseb lifted his eyes from the console. He didn't understand the meaning of her question or why she wanted the Betazoids to find them.

Suddenly, it hit him.

oO Are you kidding me? Oo

Jaseb was about to answer, but the commander interrupted him.

Adea: Can a Ganzfield frequency be reversed? Instead of blocking telepathic emanations, could it attract them?

Jaseb decided to keep his answer to the lieutenant's question to himself and instead pondered over the one asked by the commander. He was not a scientist and he knew almost nothing about the medical or scientific aspects of Ganzfield frequency. He knew how to weaponize Ganzfield, but he did not know how to modify amplitude or target a specific length frequency to stimulate a specific part of the brain to attract it to Ganzfield’s source. He looked at Kel and specifically at Yellir while he answered, hoping they found a solution. Theoretically, everything was possible.

Chevalier: I'm not sure, sir. I’m not a scientist or a medical professional. ::looks back at Adea, asking for guidance with his eyes.:: I was taught about specific aptitudes for specific uses, not the whole theory and usability. I will have my team reach out to scientists and bring them on board to assist with solutions and modifications.

Yellir/Kel: Response?

Adea: Start working on figuring out a way to get our probes to emit it - and perhaps we can release a few depth charges to disorient them. Nicely thought out.

Jaseb showed his determination by nodding and then pressing his communicator. He listened to the commotion on the bridge and gave the final instructions from the commander to the people in OPS. He felt a sense of relief as it seemed that everything was finally falling into place, and allowed himself a small smile…

Yellir/Kel: Response?

After a brief wait, Jaseb's communicator beeped once again. He felt a rush of excitement as he recognized Chief Ral's voice on the other end. With bated breath, Jaseb listened as Chief Ral confirmed that the scientists had agreed to modify the probes as Adea had requested and were already en route to make it happen.

Chevalier: Sir, Chief Ral's team with scientists are on their way to modify the probes. ETA five minutes.

Adea/Yellir/Kel: Response
