(( Karnack Engineering - Deck 4 - USS Karnack))
((Four standard days later))

Vitor still felt odd. If it wasn’t for the fact that they were all together again he would have likely been sleeping these last days. And more importantly Nan.
He hadn't seen her in months now. He had rushed away to join Tito and spent the whole shore leave apart. Even when they were assigned to the Karnack Vitor had literally just joined before they were stranded.

As usual she was his strength. His support. More than she likely realized now. Their brief hug and kiss when they reunited was sustaining him like a brand new warp core.
And although they lacked the privacy of the ship, and weren’t able to catch up properly, the fact that they were together was what kept him going.

He loved the others like family, but he loved Nan, period.

And that was his driving force. The unease he was feeling, damn side effects of the Callisian transport, was hampered down by the motivation to get back home.
Which they were going to start work on.

MacKenzie: A semi-functioning warp core is a good place to start. What should we prioritize first?

Munro: Getting the shield emitters to mimic the properties of a Faraday Cage long enough to get us out of the system is going to be no mean feat. Especially since we have no operational systems. But I think we can do it - if we can figure out a way to replicate the Faraday Cage effectively. Brexis, Bergmen, Breys, we'll need your help getting this set up.

Bergmen/Brexis/Breys: Response

MacKenzie: Even if we did get it set up, we need other functional systems to actually make us space-faring.

Munro: That's true. Even if the shield emitters work, we won't get far with the Karnack in this state.

Jovenan: Force fields and inner bulkheads can keep some of the pressure in, but we should try to close some of the breaches. The less we have to rely on force fields, the more we can use power in other systems. And the less we have to fear about them failing.

Vitor smiled at Nan as he nodded.

Silveira: I concur

Munro: Agreed. Bring Storm and Bancroft with you, and get those holes fixed. But be careful, the Things are still out here, and as it gets dark, they'll get more daring.

MacKenzie: Some of the upper decks should provide relative security from the creatures - I haven't seen them climb yet.

K'Wara: We won’t get very far with Main Engineering in this state, either, Sirs. While the warp core is stable, it’s hardly safe for use at the moment.

Munro: In its current state the warp core power distribution would likely cause a cascade failure. We're more likely to blow up the ship and this corner of the planet than get off this planet. Tamio, work with Imril to find a workaround, I don't think I need to tell you how important it is :: pauses :: Cole and Jaran, you're temporarily reassigned as technicians :: smiles :: Congratulations.

Cole: ::nodded:: Grandpa Dorian, would be so proud.

Jaran: Responses

Vitor nodded to Alex and Doc Roy as he stepped to Nan’s side. His hand discreetly touched hers as they stepped out.

((Corridor near engineering, Deck 4, USS Karnack))

Nan tilted her head watching through the hull breach so that she could see through it.
She turned to them.

Jovenan: So, any ideas how we do this?

Vitor smiled and winked at Alex and Roy

Silveira: Carefully…

Storm/Bancroft: Response

Jovenan: We might not have much usable material around here unless we start ripping the bulkheads apart. There shouldn’t be any shuttlecraft here, and we have already scattered many of the escape pods around the planet.

Vitor winced now speaking more seriously.

Silveira: We won’t have enough bulkheads to do it anyway.

Storm/Bancroft: Response

Nan peeked through the rupture again.

Jovenan: We discovered that the, um, Dark Things don’t like cold water, but I’m not sure how that would be useful against them here. Did anyone else happen to figure out how to keep them away or fight them?

Vitor shook his head.

Silveira: Not really, we basically avoided them.

Storm/Bancroft: Response

Vitor looked outside through the breach.

Silveira: If we had some way to find a hose or something to dretch them that would solve that problem.

Jovenan/Storm/Bancroft: Response

Vitor looked at the breach and looked around. There was some debris and dirt around, and they had to start somewhere.

Silveira: And for the next problem ::He pointed to the breach.::  Do we haul the bulkheads around to each breach?

Jovenan/Storm/Bancroft: Response

Vitor winced and took a step to the side. The daylight was starting to bother him and he missed what they were saying as he leaned to the shadow.

Silveira: Sorry… You were saying…

Jovenan/Storm/Bancroft: Response
