(( Hermitage, Northern Plains, Rylor ))
Ava stood and joined the doctor at the window. They had discussed their past as a Ranjen, and their reasons for joining Starfleet. Along with a calling from The Prophets, something she couldn't clearly fathom.
Jaran: It must be nice to have that sort of clarity of purpose.
Ava's head twitched a little to the side, her eyes looked to the doctor from the side. Was there sadness in that statement? It was hard to tell.
Perhaps they were just resigned to their duty both as a servant to the prophets and a Starfleet officer, which had become intertwined.
Munro: For what it's worth, doc. I'm glad you found your way to Starfleet. We're lucky to have you.
Jaran: Thank you. I'm glad to have found a home on the Artemis.
oO home Oo
Jira looked back out the window and pointed to a spot in the bright late morning sky.
Jaran: Oh, perfect timing. I'm sorry to interrupt this trip down memory lane, but that phenomenon is part of why I invited you out here.
Munro: Phenomenon?
Ava looked towards the spot that they pointed towards with interest. Then the doctor snorted and left to the back door, after one final confused look out the window she followed them.
Jaran: The old prylar here told me about it. Apparently exactly once every 37 days, it's possible to see that aurora-like effect. The Bajorans here have taken to calling it The Prophets' Eye, and they say it's a sign that we're being watched over still though we are far from the Celestial Temple.
Before she could respond the eager Bajoran was beckoning her to join them outside. She wasn't about to let them down so she followed quickly. She had to admit, she was intrigued to see what this aurora was.
Jaran: ::excitedly:: Come on, come on. You're going to join me in one more prayer, if you're willing. Either way, I'll be praying.
Ava smiled, and nodded.
Munro: I'd be honoured to Jira.
She looked out as the sky began to change colours, she followed Jira's lead in the prayer. She thought of her father, her mother and her life on Naura IV.
And in some way she felt something being released. Perhaps it was The Prophets giving her the strength to forgive herself for a childish whim or maybe it was nothing but her own self-awareness. She really wasn't sure which of the two she preferred?
((OOC: this seems like a nice place to end the scene here. This has been wonderful to write with you, I've had so much fun with these sims))
