((Sickbay - Deck 7 - USS Artemis-A))
Munro: :: resigned :: If you insist. This hydro - thing - it isn't serious is it? :: gravely :: it's not going to affect my running? I've challenged Doctor Bancroft to a race and I fully intend to win.
The doctor was in the process of diagnosing her with a condition that might explain some of the tension and pain she'd noticed on her runs.
On the upside this definitely meant that she, once the doc had worked their magic, would be able to put even more pressure on Roy during their morning runs. It had become a fun joke, mostly to herself, to see how far she could push him - within limits.
Jaran: I'm certain you'll be up and running in no time. Can I have you lie down on the biobed please?
Tentatively she rolled herself backwards, and pushed any and all negative connotations aside. When she did so she felt a small object push against her back.
Jaran tapped at the biobed controls, as the scanner slid into place she heard the sound of rock against decking. She twisted to see if it was true.
oO why are there rocks in Sickbay? Oo
Before she could ask the question out loud the scans began.
Jaran: I'm looking to see if this hydroxyapatite has built up in your joints. It's a mineral that is part of what makes up your bones, and it really shouldn't be in your joints, but it does happen sometimes. Have you been noticing any other joint tenderness?
Munro: No. Not that I've noticed.
It was then she began to wonder, and if she was honest with herself, overthink. Every little ache or pain that was just the body's normal baseline was a potential cause for concern. She kept silent and told herself not to be ridiculous.
The scan finished, and the doctor looked at the screen.
Jaran: See here? These little... clumps? ::pointing at the screen:: This is a buildup of hydroxyapatite crystals in your cartilage. Thankfully, you're here during the calcific stage, and it's a pretty easy matter of breaking them up.
Munro: Breaking up is never easy. Or so I've heard.
She smiled, and then she remembered where she had heard that phrase before. At an Earth Music Festival with Adrian.
Adrian. What to do about a problem called Adrian? It was definitely a problem she had to face.
Jaran: Response
Munro: So what do you need to do, doctor? I'll take one of those new synth bodies they gave Admiral Picard if you've got one of them laying around? :: she smiled :: Seriously though, I don't need to take any time off?
Jaran: Response
Ava listened to the doctor's instructions and explanations.
Munro: Okay, let's get started then. No use waiting around.
Jaran: Response
