(( Elysium – Deck 6, USS Artemis ))

Nicholotti: I still think some of my favorite stories are from the Resolution. Some are from when I wore that green collar as a second lieutenant, but far more are from our escapades.

If they were Klingons, there would be a great many songs written and performed, probably with the entirety of what might have been considered an orchestra, about the three of them. As it was, the memories would live on in the form of rumors and tales pulled from the various reports and anecdotes told from those who might have been there.

MacKenzie: More than our fair share of close encounters… Our first run in with CloQ… The discovery of the USS Unity from our first mission…

So many harrowing moments, and so many close calls. Looking back she wondered how the hell they got out of most of it. Then again, she was pretty sure the universe had no idea what it was doing when it put the three of them together.

Adea: Our second run in with CloQ… Or was that the Excalibur?

Finishing the wine in her glass, Kali placed it on the table, and rested her hand on Genkos’s leg. Genkos, in his turn, drained his own glass, put it down, and rested his hand on hers. Warmth spread through her and she felt relaxed in a way that she had not for some time. It really felt good to be there with nothing pressing to pull any of them away.

Nicholotti: Remember when they just told us all to be aboard and get on with it, without ever having properly met?

Kalianna grinned; Addison shook her head. The day the orders had come in for her to take command of the Resolution and to meet her first officer along the way was a day that she would remember as long as she had memory.

Nicholotti: Now look at us.

MacKenzie: The most patchwork group of derelicts you’ve ever seen, and Starfleet says “good luck.”

Kali laughed as Genkos gestured towards their glasses before taking her hand again.

Adea: But at least you brought a bottle of wine that first day too.

Grinning, she shrugged.

Nicholotti: I guess that was the first sign it was meant to be. Or that we were all in a lot of trouble.

Addison was the last to finish her wine and set her glass down, leaning back into the overly comfortable looking chair.

MacKenzie: I think we turned out alright.

The smirk on Genkos' face made her shake her head almost as soon as the words hit the air.

Adea: I agree… ::smirking:: Shame about those underneath us though.

Nicholotti: Can't say I hear too much in the way of complaints.

And that was the truth. She'd managed to make a great many connections, personal and professional, during her time aboard the Resolution and the Excalibur. There were friendships and connections that she would not trade that came from the chaos they all endured. A comfortable silence settled around them for a moment before Addison spoke her mind again.

MacKenzie: You planning on making the Eagle an extended stay?

At that, Genkos turned to look at her.

Adea: Do please say yes.

Kali raised an eyebrow and looked between them.

Nicholotti: For the time being we're on a yearlong survey mission. After that, who knows.

With a shrug she alluded to the ever present chaos that was Command and their innate ability to crush a routine and any long-term plans with the stroke of a pen - or a padd as it were.

MacKenzie: Response

It was a topic they didn't stay on for long.

Adea: Who looks after your sickbay, by the way? Do they need a course in Genkos-i-fying the place?

That got a laugh from her.

Nicholotti: I've got a couple of fresh medical ensigns, but they've really risen to the challenge. If there's a chance in the seven hells that I could steal you for a time though...

She looked over at Addison questioningly with a knowing smirk.

MacKenzie: Response

Nicholotti: Thought that might be the case. Besides, who would watch her back if you're not here? You know how starship holes seem to be attracted to her.

MacKenzie/Adea: Responses?

Kali laughed again. The laughs seemed to come so easily there and then.

Nicholotti: Maybe it's the red hair.

MacKenzie/Adea: Responses?

There were few who struck an imposing figure like Addison MacKenzie, and anyone who spoke of the captain with the flaming locks could only be speaking of one person. At least that was how it sat in her mind.

Nicholotti: Any idea what command will have you guys doing after this?

MacKenzie/Adea: Response?

In a way, she longed to go with them and be a part of it again. The divergence of their paths had been a difficult pill to swallow, but she continued to be grateful for the time they'd had, and for their ongoing connection.
