Ens Lyara Alroyo - I Come Bearing Gifts!

Alroyo had been meaning to touch base with Gila since her trip to the Artemis on the shuttle where she got to meet not only the doctor but also her nephew Aqila. The incident on Ura Nateos III warranted a medical visit to at least get her arm checked out, and her onboarding medical check up taken care of too.
But, now was not the time for medical check ups or laying in biobeds. It was the good doctor’s housewarming party and Lyara had come bearing gifts! For Gila and the other officers she brought a bottle of springwine and a plate of kava rolls using her father’s recipe. And for little Aqila since she had heard a rumor of him being into art she had decided to give him a book on Bajoran religious art. To make sure it didn’t look like she was proselytizing to the child she also got him a traditional set of Bajoran paints and brushes.
As she stood in front of their quarters she couldn’t help but feel a little overdressed. Alroyo had elected to wear a red traditional Bajoran dress, but had no idea what counted as semi-formal on a StarFleet ship. Maybe she should have worn her uniform but that felt more casual than wearing a civilian outfit to her as she was always in uniform. That didn’t matter as she was now standing in front of the door and giving it a ring.
Her ring must have shocked the hosts as she heard a slight commotion on the other side of the door. She had a tendency of showing up early, as is typical for Bajorans, however she didn’t plan to stay way over time like most Bajorans as other cultures aren’t as open to the flexible party schedules of their spicy culture. The voice startled by her early appearance approached the door.
Sadar: ::shrill voice:: WH-WHA- NO! ::clears throat:: C-Calm down, Kolya! N-No, I- ::deep breath:: I’ll get it. ::goes to open the door:: E-Ensign?
Alroyo gave Gila a bright smile as she held up her offerings of peace.
Lyara: I’m not too early am I?
Gila shook her head and gave an awkward smile. But Alroyo was happy she at least tried to hide her surprise.
Sadar: N-No, of course, you’re more than welcome! Come on in. ::guides inside:: You remember Kolya, I’m sure.
Aqila: :: smiles awkwardly :: We met on the shuttle, you are a Bajoran and you like Hasperat. :: hides behind Gila’s robe and whispers :: I don't know any songs?
Alroyo looked to Aquila as he hid behind Gila and gave him a smile.
Lyara: Of course I remember my little copilot! ::Putting her finger to her chin:: But I hear you’re an artist now. Ain’t that right?
Aqila: Response
Lyara: I’ve got a gift for the upcoming artist. Little something from Bajoran culture.
Alroyo handed him the wrapped present and gave a little prayer mentally to the Prophets that he enjoys religious art.
Aqila: Response
She gave him a slight nod then turned to Gila presenting the kava rolls and springwine to her.
Lyara: And for a gift to the other officers I got some springwine and my Father’s kava roll recipe. ::fake whispering:: Family secret.
The secret to the recipe was that it had a bit more sweetness to it and a taste akin to spicy cinnamon.

Alroyo placed the food she brought next to the immense amount of food replicated. She didn’t know how many people would show up but surely there was enough to feed the whole ship and then some.
She looked up from the table and noticed the various art pieces plastered all over the wall. It took her a moment but she quickly realized she was looking at Betazoid art. The vibrant colors and “empathetic” nature of the paintings were a favorite of hers. It reminded her of the academy when she’d go visit art installations with her Betazoid best friend.
Lyara: Love the Betazoid art. ::She motioned to the walls:: I’ve always been fond of Betazoid culture.
