Genkos’ previously furrowed brows disappeared, instead flying upwards into his mop of curly hair. The revelation that Vitor really wasn’t sleeping well was news to the good doctor, and he wanted to be able to help. Good thing he was a doctor.

Adea: Oh? Really? And is that because you’re having trouble staying asleep, getting to sleep or…?

Silveira: Mostly staying asleep.

Genkos clasped his hands together on the desk in front of him.

Adea: And are you having nightmares, or the like?

Silveira: Now more… The like. When CloQ deaged me it brought back my old nightmares. That's when I got my sleep messed up. In time I was pleased if I only woke up twice a night. Still I managed to make it work.

Genkos frowned; how had this been missed? Well, if Vitor hadn’t had a check-up since the second CloQ incident, then it wouldn’t have been caught by his medical staff. However…

Adea: Why didn’t you come to us, how did you manage this?

Vitor leaned back. He raised his hands apologetically.

Silveira: Extra overdose of coffee to keep me awake during work hours. Exercise and overwork to get physically tired. I think nobody noticed any changes and in time I adapted. Things changed back after we found our Shint counterparts.

Genkos nodded once; his sleep had also been affected by that incident, and he was also sometimes kept awake by thoughts of his Shint doppelganger.

Adea: Changed how?

Vitor's expression changed and he lowered his head. Genkos kept his gaze steady on the officer, and kept his face neutral - it wouldn’t do to have his emotions affect his friend’s.

Silveira: I am dreaming with Jo recently. Not always nightmares but… I am having this dream where… ::he swallowed as if trying to force down a lump that was settling in his throat.:: Where we have a family, either on board or somewhere else.

Adea: Jo? Lieutenant Jovenan? ::he frowned:: I wasn’t aware that you and she - ::his brows furrowed as he realised the folly of his words:: Oh. Oh I am sorry, Vitor. I had no idea.

Silveira: Response

Genkos knew from the reports that Jovenan’s alternative universe version had swapped sides to Starfleet and had died for her loyalty to the Artemis’ crew. What he didn’t realise, what had been left out of the reports, was that Vitor had feelings for her.

Adea: Have you spoken to anyone about this? A counsellor, or a friend?

Silveira: Response

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
