Ensign
Jaseb Cherkesov sat in the darkness. The office lights were dimmed,
the chronograph showed the time of graveyard duty. Room was empty,
only one source of light lightly lit up the corner of the room.
He lightly taps the keyboard's touch screen as his right hand mechanical fingers sounded the silence.
Graveyard
duty was optimal for the task at hand, and Jaseb was satisfied with
his work. He smiled at the text which was slowly appearing on the
computer screen. He checked the text one more time, and then he
pressed the button SEND.

Subject: MEMO – TECHINT & MASINT analysis of Unit J, CIC Desdemona
--
Commander Dakora,
As
known, stardate 240010.08 USS Artemis-A encountered ship of unknown
origin, CIC Desdemona, which carried a personnel similar to crew of
USS Artemis-A. Declaring themselves as a members of the Interstellar
Commonwealth, the personnel onboard CIC Desdemona was identified as a
spillage to Uchronia Directive on the classification of Mirror
Universe, breach level Yellow.
As
part of my assignment on the HUMINT & TECHINT analysis of the
crew of CIC Desdemona and ship itself, I'm writing this memo in
addition to the previous reports in connection to the event, as
required by the special nature of CIC Desdemona crewmen, marked as
“Unit J”, which was identified as my Other Universe counterpart.
At
stardate 240010.08 was Unit J encountered, and transferred onboard USS Artemis-A for further study analysis under disclosure of medical
and technical help to CIC Desdemona.
Based on the initial analysis of said Unit J, it was established this subject was clinically DOA at the time of onboard medical assessment on the USS Artemis-A sickbay, where decomposition of biological matter was scaled within a timeline around five years of the dead biological matter degradation.
Initial medical scan made by the sickbay personnel attached to this memo.
Confirmed with the HUMINT on the CIC Desdemona crew, the subject was functional until shortly before transfer of CIC Desdemona to our universe, which brought the spotlight on the technological solution installed into this subject.
Unit
J was identified to carry technologies on the technological level
identifiable to Elthari technological cybernetic standard around SD
2269-2372, which contained:
Cybernetic hands, connected to the neural mainframe processor and biological origin. Mix of different technological standards, mostly outdated.
Cybernetic legs, connected to the neural mainframe processor, with connection to cybernetic abdomen solution mentioned below. Mix of different technological standards, mostly outdated.
Bionic-biological heart, installed into biological origin. Heart is an outdated design and based on the data of installation analysis, is not an original part installed into the subject during his mechanical ascension. Further analysis identified the origin of the heart to Vulcan, modified by simplistic bionic parts to suppress incompatibility to Elthari biological profile. Heart biology showed heavy pathology and decomposition comparable to repeated myocardial infarction.
Unidentified processor unit with replicator capabilities in the central torso connected to central mainframe processor and biological matter through the system of tubes, which serves as an infuse means to distribute biological substances. Coding of this replicator/processor unit is attached to this memo for further analysis and decryption. Coding matrix is encrypted by means not comparable to any known SFI / Elthari resources available to me personally.
Cybernetic abdomen, containing unidentified processor unit, replacing stomach, pelvis and biological excretory system. Technology of this part is mixed between outdated and unknown solutions to current Elthari standard.
Central
body mass armor platting inseparably integrated into a subject's
mechanics and biology. This armor covers a chest, abdomen and
partially covering shoulders and hips area. Durasteel composite with
other substances. It bears signs of energetic and mechanical damage.
The chemical and composition analysis made on this armor and the ballistic analysis of the damage sustained, attached to this memo.
Identified partial
capability to deflect phaser and disruptor damage due composite
marked as Composite D in attached analysis.
Neural mainframe processor, offline and damaged at the time of initial analysis, identifiable technologically to Elthari standard in 2370-2372. This mainframe coding is based in core as Elthari, with addition of patches and expansions of unknown origin substantially changing the function of the processor. Code decrypted shows markers of Artificial Intelligence based on the code of unknown origin capable of monitoring and controlling subject's mechanical and biological functions, even if the subject's biology fails in vital functions. In compliance with observation on the biological status of the subject, with vital functions damage and decomposition, is believable to mark this as meaning to determine the subject is capable of combat operations even in situations of a life-threatening vital functions failure as a result of damage to the vital organs.
This observation can be confirmed with the state of the subject's brain, in which this processor is installed. Brain showed signs of dead cerebrum and heavy biological damage to the subject's brain stem - which can be classified as the state of clinical death. Subject's brain damage and pathology is comparable to the state of decomposition within the rest of the subject's organs and biology.
During
the initial analysis and medical assessment of the subject, a
high quantity of unknown substance in the subject's biology was found - identified
in this memo and attached reports as Substance Green-Alpha - as well
as the metabolites of the identified substance. Same substance was
discovered in the injection tubes connected to the subject's vital organs
in minor volume, unfortunately degraded by decomposition and the
mixture of other substances distributed through this application
method.
This substance was misidentified by Artemis medical personnel as means of cell biological nutrition in their medical report, but further independent laboratory analysis within the scope of my investigation not involving the medical staff identified all stages of substance metabolites. Based on the metabolites profile, I was able to identify a pure state of the compound and replicate it for further study and investigation.
This compound showed promising signs of accelerated cell regeneration and is able to boost user's biological capabilities (see page 2 to 5 of my lab report).
Opposite to this discovery, within the lab test, on pages 13-15, you
can see the heavily, life-threatening toxic results of this substance
metabolites on biological matter within 72 hours after injection.
With a safe margin and based on my observations and knowledge, it's safe to say the subject's cybernetics alone aren't able to sustain this subject functional on this level of biological degradation.
Based on the medical record, especially on the initial analysis on volume said substance and its metabolites - see the marked parts of said report proving heavy overdose in the subject's system - is safe to declare this substance is reason why subject was able to be “alive” even in state of the catastrophic damage to its biology. And it's a reason at the same time why his biology was degraded in the first place. As declared in my lab report attached to this memo, the substance can in further development prove to be a breakthrough for combat medicine, even if currently is unusable for this practice.
With
the assistance of Artemis medical staff, we were able to detoxify the
subject of the substance and repair most of the subject's biological
and mechanical damage to restore his standard biological functions. As the
threat assessment of the subject was upgraded as a "relevant",
due to the identified subject's ability of a reanimation if disabled
as a combatant, during this repair was a backdoor access worm
installed to the subject's cerebral mainframe implant. Within said
repair, no subject's cybernetics were upgraded nor changed, with
exception of the backdoor installed to his cerebral implant as prevention
to enhance the subject's abilities.
Further
analysis on the subject is recommended, if the subject would be
captured and placed into SFI custody.
