(( Rooftop Gazebo - Ana Kersna, Rylor ))
It would be a lie to say that Tamio wasn’t enjoying watching Vitor Silveira squirm a little. After spending a week watching Jovenan’s face as she tried to cover the heartbreak, and then seeing the intensity with which their reunion hit her, they had to admit to a certain curiosity about this man.
Evidently, it’s because the two of them were lovelorn fools.
Silveira: It’s something that happened slowly but naturally. I think all the things we shared brought us together and… It’s amazing…. ::Vitor opened his arms:: As silly as it sounds. But enough about me and Nan. Tell me more about yourself. Where did you serve? When did you join?
K’Wara: Trying to date me? ::smirks:: Class of 2390. Got an assignment to the USS Churchill right out of the Academy.
They noticed the change in the man’s face as that name passed through his mind.
Silveira: That name sounds familiar… But please go on…
K’Wara: It should, considering you were the Chief Tactical Officer on Ops. The Churchill was part of the support fleet for the station in the early 90’s.
They let that sink in for maybe two-three seconds before continuing.
K’Wara: I served on the Churchill for just shy of 3 years until I had... Until I got reassigned to the Princeton.
Tamio was kind of relieved when the bell chimed then. The loss of their tail was old news at this point, but it was still something they didn’t much care to relive every time they met a new person. They rose to their feet, about to thank Vitor for the quick chat, when they felt a hand on their shoulder.
It was Nadevia.
Virtavi-Yaros: Tamio, if I might be so bold as to ask that you remain with your esteemed colleagues for this next stretch as well? ::smiles:: I would consider it a personal favor?
Tamio smiled warmly, and while they remained standing, they made it clear they weren’t going to continue the process of leaving the table.
K’Wara: Well, in that case, how can I refuse? ::smiles at the guest:: Welcome to the table, Natasha.
Silveira: The more the merrier… And…
Nadevia had already moved by then, and Vitor’s words died on his lips. Tamio tried to hide a smirk as they sat back down, taking another sip of their sparkles.
Cole: I hope I’m not intruding. ::slight awkward smile::
Silveira: Not at all, we were just chatting. I really should have updated my… Availability on Starflirt, but hey at least its a chance to catch up and chat.
Tamio couldn’t disagree with that, though they had to admit this way was far more entertaining. They didn’t usually take amusement in other people’s misfortune, but Vitor seemed a good sport, and as such, Tamio felt that he could take some liberties in that regard.
Though they were far too courteous a conversationalist to rub salt in the wound. At least until they’d drunk a few more sparklies.
K’Wara: This is the first Soirrée for both of you, right? How do you like it so far?
Cole: I’m still adjusting to the idea that StarFlirt apparently has better crew turnout than some briefings.
That comment elicited a chuckle from both senior officers.
Silveira: And certainly much better outfits. ::he tilted his head at Tamio:: Although to some contentious opinions.
K’Wara: My outfit is spectacular, thank you for noticing. ::flips their hair:: And I do agree. It’s always interesting to see how people decide to dress when off-duty. Though, I can see how the atmosphere can be a bit... Unfamiliar, compared to the usual Artemis way.
Cole: I think I prepared for the unfamiliar part. I just didn’t prepare for how visible it would feel once I got here.
The notion that Natasha - reckless, brave and ‘rushes headfirst into situations’ Natasha Cole - would be unprepared for visibility was amusing, and Tamio crossed one leg over the other, watching her with interest.
This was a new side to her that they hadn’t seen before.
Cole: Still… I’m here. That has to count for something.
K’Wara: ::raises their glass:: Here’s to taking the plunge.
Silveira: And you're in pretty good company. So I suggest we all enjoy it.
Tamio couldn’t agree more, and after another sip of their sparklies, they raised their hand slightly and within a few moments, a server appeared at the table to replenish their drink.
Cole: Response
K’Wara: ::enigmatic smirk:: Once or twice. It’s always a good time.
Certainly good enough that Tamio kept coming back, and it wasn’t for the drinks. There was something delightfully precarious about the atmosphere at these things: the discordant balance of wanting to be vulnerable, but being too guarded to dare it. It was delightful.
Silveira: Nat, maybe you are so kind as to solve a little… Diferendo. ::he gestured to his shirt.:: Tell me, isn’t Teal just another sort of Blue?
Cole: Response
oO Oh, the game is afoot. Oo
Silveira: C’mon you're perfectly safe to be honest… Just remember who can let you take the Tactical station in the next ship battle…
Tamio couldn’t wait to see Addison MacKenzie’s face once she realized that a bridge duty was now a valid submission for crew bets.
K’Wara: You know, I’m starting to like this betting culture that’s starting to develop on the Artemis. Only a matter of time until someone wagers away their senior staff quarters.
They wondered what duty post would be next. What would be the most popular duty that people’d be willing to make bets to win? Or maybe bets to get rid of.
oO Holodeck bio filter duty... Gross. Oo
Cole/Silveira: Response
Tamio seemed to consider that for a few seconds.
K’Wara: Hmm... Not a lot. I came to the Artemis after staying at the Academy for 3 years, so most of my personal effects are in storage. Had to downsize quite a bit.
Cole/Silveira: Response
K’Wara: I’ll build up a collection to wager away soon enough, though I doubt it’ll be as exciting as a turn at the Tactical Console.
Cole/Silveira: Response
