((XO’s Office - Deck 2 - USS Artemis-A))

Having chewed through an impressive amount of paddwork, despite the fact that he was supposed to be on leave, Talos had finally decided to call it quits for the day.

He'd just pushed his chair back from his desk when his door chime sounded.

Dakora: Come on in, it's open.

A smile bloomed on his face as the door slid aside to reveal Doctor Gila Sadar. The intensity of his smile faltered slightly when he was confronted by a rather grim wave of emotions following the Mizarian through the door.

Sadar: H-Hello Lieutenant Commander… D-Do you, uhh… If you’re not too busy-

He gestured to the seat opposite his at his desk. The perpetually nervous Doctor had saved his life when he'd been caught in an explosion after the Artemis had been boarded by Suliban pirates.

As far as he was concerned, she'd won a near permanent place on his good-side with that one.

Dakora: Never too busy for you. Have a seat. ::He waited for her to sit:: What's going on?

Gila sighed, the expression on her purple face seemed more than her usual overactive nerves. A swirling storm of guilt colored with shame battered his empathic senses as she slid a padd across his desk.

Sadar: I’m here to… R-Report on the incident on Ki Baratan in 2374, and to- ::deep breath:: Submit myself for my disciplinary hearing and subsequent court martial. ::quivering voice:: Please accept my resignation.

Talos’ eyebrows tried to rise up and off of his forehead as he struggled to process her words.

He was aware of what Genkos, Jovenan, Gila and the newly arrived Ensign Gnai had been subjected to by CloQ, roughly. Though he hadn't yet talked to any of them about it in person yet.

He raised a hand palm out and kept his voice calm and even.

Dakora: Whoa, OK. Let's just slow down here for a moment. I appreciate the report on your experience during our recent CloQ incident, but I'm afraid you lost me on the whole court-martial/resignation part. Care to elaborate?

Sadar: Response

Talos listened respectfully, waiting until she was finished before saying or doing anything. She wasn't alone in her feelings of confusion and guilt in the wake of what CloQ had subjected them to. He could vouch for that himself.

But it had all been a game. A fixed scenario created for the amusement of a mad demi-god.

His expression softened and he spoke quietly as he replied.

Dakora: Doctor Sadar. Gila, ::Beat.:: First, let me just say that what happened to you and the rest of those trapped with you wasn't fair. You were subjected to an unprecedented and, frankly, impossible situation.

He pointed to the padd.

Dakora: But there is nothing here that necessitates a court martial OR a resignation.

Sadar: Response

Talks offered a sad smile as he tapped a few commands into the console. When he'd pulled up the file he wanted, he pulled the holographic display around so that she could see it.

On the screen was the official historical record of what happened to Senator Vreenak.

Dakora: Vreenak wasn't killed on Ki Baratan, in 2374. What you– what we experienced wasn't real. ::His face darkened.:: Even if it really felt like it.

Sadar: Response
