((Counselor’s Office - Deck 7, USS Artemis-A))
Another new day, another new patient, wonderful! The only problem was that she had been running late - Risa-time didn’t seem to always sync up with Federation-time. The lazy sun overhead did little to warn them of the impending item on their schedule, not until the combadge that rested on the table to the side beeped, next to a barely-touched drink (a quick experiment to try Risian beverages proved that they retained the same flavor profile of all non-Kobali foods, inedible and metallic).
A quick transport up to the ship, then a quick dash to their quarters, pulling on their uniform and fastening the provisional crewman bar to their neck took up most of the cushion of time before the appointment. She wasn’t really late, not when she checked the chronometer on her PADD, just late to her own pre-appointment deadline. Risa was a tempting, tempting planet, and it was all the better to set multiple alarms for important things.
Within the office, they collapsed into their chair for a moment, still a bit exhausted from the sun and the recent burst of activity to be “on time”, and thankful that their past-self (no, not in that way) had had the foresight to allow for a bit of buffer before the patient arrived.
After her heart rate returned to normal, a chime rang out through the office, and Vhysa’lia got up from her chair to welcome in the new patient.
Vhysa’lia: Oh, come in, come in!
Imril: Hello… Counsellor?
Vhysa’lia: ::correcting them:: Vhysa’lia, but counsellor is fine, if you’re more comfortable with that. ::smile, gesturing to the open seat:: Come, sit down, make yourself comfortable.
They sat as well, across from this Imril (rank: ensign, not that it mattered here). A brief glance down at her uniform revealed that the provisional rank bar was skewed off kilter, which she fixed quickly.
Imril: I hope I’m not keeping you from Risa. Or some other shore leave destination.
Vhysa’lia: ::shaking their head:: No, no, of course not. ::smiling:: I just got back from a bit of sun, but I think I’ve had far more than enough Risa for today.
One of the things that they’d been warned against when visiting Risa was the potential need for sunblock, and while they had tried to be good about it, paying attention to the passage of time wasn’t their greatest skill down planet-side. Her face was flushed a bit purple-r than normal, evidence enough that she had in fact, spent a good deal of time in the sun.
Imril: Response
Vhysa’lia: Before we begin, I just wanted to check… How do you say your name again? I don’t want to mispronounce it.
Imril: Response
She nodded, noting that down in her PADD.
Vhysa’lia: Imril, if you would, I’d like to hear more about why you requested to see me today. I understand your recent mission was… stressful.
That was putting it mildly, but they wanted to let Imril tell their story. The file did note down a reason, but hearing it from the patient was often helpful, and an easy way to start a session.
Imril: Response
