Captain Addison MacKenzie - No Time for Deception

(( Corridor, Near the Security Center, Deck 8 – USS Artemis ))

 

There had been a series of small tells leading Addison to believe that the familiar face in front of her wasn’t the man she knew. The straw that cemented her suspicions was when Genkos claimed that Marshall, CO of the Gorkon was fine and doing well. …except Marshall wasn’t the CO of the Gorkon and never had been. She’d directly caught him in a lie, and she wasn’t about to let him or his band of merry misfits from another universe pull the wool over their eyes any longer.

 

With her weapon pulled, she confronted him.

 

 

MacKenzie: Admiral Reynolds would be offended to think that you’d forgotten about her so quickly. Why are you attempting to feign a contagion, Colonel?

 

The faintest glimpse of panic revealed itself on his face before he immediately locked the emotion away.

 

Adea: Captain… I - I don’t know what you mean.

 

He took a step towards her. She further outstretched her arm.

 

MacKenzie: Put your hands up! Don’t take one more step!

 

He held up his hands, one still holding tight to his cane and stopped, mid pace.

 

Adea: Woah, woah, woah. Let’s not do anything too hasty, Addison. 

 

The image of Genkos stabbing Silveira with the concealed blade in his cane on a previous mission flashed through Addison’s mind. She wasn’t sure exactly how long the blade was, but it was at least long enough to go through Silveira.

 

…no thank you.

 

MacKenzie: Put the cane down!

 

Adea: Response

 

He hesitated. At his slightest movement, she discharged the weapon and shot him in the leg. Genkos fell on his rear and dropped the cane nearby, letting out a shriek. The weapon discharge immediately sent the ship into red alert.

 

Adea: Response

 

MacKenzie: I said do. not. move.

 

Adea: Response

 

She tapped her commbadge, knowing that Silveira was on the deck.

 

MacKenzie: =/\= Security to Deck 8, my location on the double! The ship is on lockdown – all non-essential personnel are confined to quarters immediately. =/\=

 

Adea/Silveria: Response
