(( Holodeck 3, Deck 222, DS 224 ))
Meris: ::pushing on Roy's hip to move him aside:: =/\= I'm looking ::coms static:: ...looking for... ::coms static:: ...move Doctor! =/\=
Alex tried to get a view of what was going on ahead of her. With Meris trying to shimmy up beside Bancroft, instead of staring at one set of feet, she was staring at two. She could barely see any light between them. She really didn’t envy either of them.
Storm: ::to Tho’Bi:: =/\= We’re ::coms static:: -king on - ::coms static:: -ly way through? ::coms static:: =/\=
Tho'Bi: ::coms static::
Bancroft: =/\= Lieu- ::coms static:: Storm, we’ve got a th- ::coms static:: -bs up from ::coms static:: blue guy. Tho- ::coms static:: says ‘hi’. =/\=
Did she just hear that right? oO “Blue guy says, ‘hi’? Surely while her comms were crackling Bancroft wouldn’t …. No, this is Bancroft, of course he would say that. Oo For a moment, she was surprised that he hadn’t said more.
Meris: =/\= I'm ::coms static:: in. =/\=
Tho’Bi: ::thumbs up to Bancroft:: ::indicates pass it down the line::
Bancroft: ::gives another thumbs up to Storm::
Storm: =/\= We ::coms static:: -d time upda- ::coms static:: =/\=
Tho'Bi: ::to Bancroft:: ::Holds up eight fingers no thumbs::
Bancroft: ::gestures at wrist with one hand, then holds up eight fingers::
Storm: =/\= Is ther- ::coms static:: -ay around? =/\=
Storm: =/\= Meris, we- ::coms static:: able to dis- ::coms static:: panel? Or did yo- ::coms static:: coolant vent- ::coms static::? =/\=
Meris: =/\= I'm ::coms static:: -ough. =/\=
Bancroft: ::muttering to himself:: My kingdom for a working comms system. Note to self, if you need a white noise machine for bed, just open a local channel and irradiate the area.
Meris: =/\= You should be ::coms static:: more ice. =/\=
Sometimes Alex hated the fact that she COULD read minds because she wasn’t SUPPOSED to read minds. And while she understood proper etiquette, how far would she let that go? If lives were at stake would she go ahead and read their minds anyway. She decided that since this was just a simulation, she wouldn’t go traipsing through any underwear drawers today.
Storm: =/\= More Ice?=/\=
Maybe that was short enough to get through without any interference, of it was so short that no one knew she spoke. It was a double edged sword.
Alex could sense something was about to change before it did, but instead of feeling like 125 degrees in her suit the arctic cold froze all those tiny water droplets so that the Tactical officer’s hands were wrapped in a sheet of ice as were her knees. She even had a small icicle frozen in mid-drip off of her eyelash. To make matters worse, the sudden change of temperature, coupled with the condensation, made it impossible to see. She wiped at the outside of her visor, but all it did was leave streaks across it, which made visibility even more difficult.
And then the real trouble started. Alex could feel the metal beneath them begin to groan, but the ruckus soon grew into a roar. Relays gave off showers of fireworks, not the kind that you ooo and awwww at in the night sky. The kind where you want to dance away from because it’s spraying your suit - the only thing between you and sudden and ill-fated death. Catching on fire might mar one’s good day.
But that was just the beginning. A galactic someone intent on cooking a meal had taken a giant can opener to the Jeffries tube. The cut wasn’t exactly precise. It must have been an old can opener, and they had decided to cut open the bottom of the can because one by one the people began to disappear from view.
From her vantage point, Storm could only see bodies disappearing.
Tho'Bi: ::dead comms:: Crashcart! Wait! ::no one could hear him::
She did catch Bankroft’s foot catching on the hatch’s rim, She tried to crawl quickly to catch him, but the average speed of crawling in a radiation suit was about as fast as a sleepy toddler. She nearly launched herself headfirst through the hatch, but her arm had the good fortune of getting caught on one of the relays now dangling from its place. But she did have a beautiful view of his graceless fall. He tried to stick the landing like an errant gymnast who twisted their ankle and instead of landing on his feet, he landed on his face - twice. That took talent.
Alex took a moment and unhooked her arm from the sparking relay just in time. It left her a fun souvenir - a scorch mark - that if she had been caught any longer would have eaten through the suit like a piranha eating through denim.
Bancroft: ::to himself, wheezing:: Well. Stuck the landing. Really nailed it. 10/10.
Tho'Bi: ::dead comms:: Lieutenant! Wait One! ::no one could hear him::
She decided that Bancroft’s dive didn’t end that well, so she would try a different tack. Sitting on one side of the rim, and holding onto the other side with her gloved (frozen) hands, as carefully as a teenage chef brandishing a sharp knife, she slipped her suit over the edge, her hands held on just long enough to laugh at her before releasing her into the space below. She hoped Bancroft would move before she tackled him. She landed with one foot on the ground - that leg was bent - one knee on the ground, and a hand thunked flat as well which kept her from rolling into Tho’bi. She flipped her helmet into an upright position quickly. The name Diana Prince quickly flitted through her mind - she wasn’t sure why.
Bancroft: ::garbled comms, cheerfully:: Deck plating’s intact here. Very sturdy. I tested it personally. For science… and team safety.
All Alex could make out … “Deck…tact…….team safe…”
oO The deck attacked the team? Oo. Alex looked around to see how it could have been said that the deck attacked them - more like both Thobi and Banroft attacked the deck. But regardless, the whole team was there - and relatively unscathed, though Alex didn’t like the look of the crack spidering across the engineer’s visor.
Storm: ::Making an “O” and a “K” and raising her hands to her shoulders to show she wanted to know if everyone was uninjured.::
Meris/Tho’Bi: Responses
Alex looked to each of them in turn and when she turned to see Meris, they were nowhere in sight. But her gaze followed Crashcart - who had now earned his nickname in a different sort of crash. She saw Meris standing above them holding a phaser.
Bancroft: =/\= Stellar wo- ::coms static:: buddy! Rea- ::coms static:: ‘ice’ save. Than- ::coms static:: getting us outta that eas- ::coms static:: bake death tube. =/\=
Sign language wasn’t a favorite of the Lieutenant’s. Honestly, she might know 4-5 words, but with the Comms as sketchy as they were she tried it again.
Storm: ::Motioned to Meris to join them. Then motioning to all of them and then to the way out of this area…then she used both hands to shoo them out.::
She waited for the J’naii to join them.

Meris/Storm/Tho’Bi: Responses
She nodded hoping for an affirmative nod in return. Time was slipping away as quickly as a cheetah could dash after a gazelle. Making her way to an adjacent hatch down on their level, Storm tried to turn the wheel, but it didn’t want to budge. Knowing that Andorians have a greater strength to body mass ratio. Alex gestured to Tho’bi.
Storm: =/\= Can ::comms static:: turn ::comms static:: =/\=
Meris/Storm/Tho’Bi: Responses
Alex stepped back for the Andorian to see if he could wrest the wheel from its place.
Storm: =/\= Is ::comms static:: danger ::comms static:: phaser on door?=/\=
