(( Shuttlecraft - Approaching USS Artemis-A ))
Gavrin sat quietly in the back of the shuttlecraft that was ferrying him to his first posting. A satchel of his most important belongings sat by his feet, the rest would be transported directly from the cargo hold of the shuttlecraft to his room. That was the theory, at least. Gavrin would believe it when he saw his stuff actually in his quarters. One hand loosely gripped a PADD with the main details of his posting, along with the specifications of the USS Artemis-A, giving him a chance to hit the ground running when he arrived.
He was deeply gratified to have discovered that the ship was just about to start shore leave, which would give him a chance to catch up, maybe do a little extra studying, but also give him his first chance to unwind since his graduation. There'd been parties, of course, but it'd all passed in quite the whirlwind of emotion.
The shuttle pilot glanced back at Gavrin - she'd tried to engage him in conversation a few times, but he'd retreated into himself after the first polite exchanges of 'congratulations' and 'I bet you're glad to be out of the Academy' and so on.
Pilot: Ensign - we're here, ready to transport.
Gavrin blinked and stood, shaking his arms out before they had a chance to cramp. He nodded, shooting her a grateful smile.
Tarsan: Thanks... ::he trailed off, realising he hadn't actually managed to remember her name.:: ...for the lift
His smile turned apologetic as he moved to the transporter pad, snagging his satchel on the way and tucking the PADD back into it. It was but a moment later that he heard the sound of the transporter demateria-

-and rematerialising him on the pad of the Artemis-A. Gavrin blinked several times, letting his eyes adjust to the brighter space. His eyes focused on the Nuvian behind the transporter controls at first before he realised there was someone in front of them, waving at him. He blinked again, trying to identify their species. Cygnian? He was.. 80% confident he was right. Maybe 70%.
K’Wara: Welcome aboard, Ensign! I’m Lieutenant Tamio K’Wara, and I shall be your guide today!
Tarsan: Cad- ::swiftly correcting himself:: Ensign Gavrin Tarsan reporting for duty, Lieutenant
Gavrin racked his brains to see if he could remember the crew roster. Nope. He'd spent all his time on the physical specs of the ship and none on the crew themselves. Mistake one and he wasn't even off the transporter pad. He stepped down to follow Tamio as they headed out of the transporter room, nodding politely to Ilio on the way out.
K’Wara: Keep up the good work, Ilio!
Gavrin tugged his satchel a little closer to his side as they entered the corridor, trying to stop it from swinging out and clotheslining any members of the crew they might pass (this was never a danger but he could never be too sure).
K’Wara: How was the trip over from Starbase 118? Not too bumpy, I hope?
Tarsan: Incredibly smooth, thanks. Quicker than I thought it would be.
K’Wara: Well, you hit us at just the right time, Gavrin. Shore leave’s just started, and Rylor is shaping up to be quite the tropical getaway. Sounds like a pretty great way to celebrate your graduation, if you ask me.
It was definitely a thought that had passed through Gavrin's mind once or twice as well.
Tarsan: Absolutely, Lieutenant. Uhh.. I've never actually been to Rylor before - is there a lot to do?
K'Wara: Response
Tarsan: Me? I'm not really sure I'd know how to just... relax on the beach.
As they moved down the corridors, Gavrin peered around himself at the layout in interest. He'd never actually been on a Luna-class before, so it was an immediate education to see just how real-life differed from all the simulations.
K'Wara: Response
Tarsan: Hiking trails sounds good to me - I like getting out in the wilds
