(( Captain’s Ready Room – Deck 1, USS Artemis-A ))
Away team uniform shedded, and recycled. Gladly. She had managed to visit Sickbay; her leg was fully healed and all her scratches and bruises gone. It was as if the whole Grunden nightmare was nothing more than an imagined world. No different from the holodeck. Except, the dead Grunden were not photons and would not come back to life with an order. They were gone forever.
The Captain sat behind her desk, and Zoyara along with Gila and Lieutenant Silveira sat opposite.
MacKenzie: Sil, let’s start with you. How far did you get with the drone dismantling and what did you learn?
Silveira: Response
Zoyara nodded, some of that matched what she and Tho’Bi had discovered on the planet. Albeit they did not have the opportunity to get a closer look due to the near death.
MacKenzie: Alright, Zoyara and Gila. What about you? What did you learn in your time with the Grunden?
Zoyara stared at the Captain for several seconds.
oO had she just called me Zoyara?! Oo
No one ever called her that, except her father. She straightened her back and swallowed before she answered.
Vailani: Erm, we learnt that the General believes or at least suspects his government involvement in a conspiracy. I believe he may have more information Captain than he's revealed as yet. I do think he wants to share with us :: sighs and shakes her head :: What happened in Breetia was nothing short of a massacre, Captain. Cruel and unnecessary.
She couldn’t help but think of the people huddled underneath the kangew; frightened faces in despair with their homes obliterated. Thankfully Gnai was safely analysing some data after being beamed aboard the Artemis. She made a note to check in on it when this was over.
Sadar: Response
MacKenzie cocked her head.
MacKenzie: You discovered who?
Sadar: Response
The Captain shook her head slowly and Zoyara could understand. The situation got ever more complicated with each passing minute.
MacKenzie: And they were where? What do you make of it?
Vailani: I think we’ve got nothing but half-formed opinions and mistruths to go on. The Grand Marshall, seemingly acting on his own, seems to be the main agitator here?
Zoyara wondered how much both societies had been manipulated?
Sadar: Response
The commanding officer of the Artemis rested her left elbow on the armrest of her chair. No sooner had her appendage made contact, did she rest her head on that hand and start to massage her forehead. After a moment, she sat straight up in her chair again.
MacKenzie: The Kobyar and Grunden have each agreed to come aboard and share what they know and start a conversation since this is neutral ground. We need to continue our investigation and see what else we can learn. Lieutenant Vailani, where do you think we should begin and how might you recommend we distribute teams?
Vailani: I think we need to learn more about the technology, it is clear they’ve had some outside influence. The signal that Doctor Sadar’s team located, might hold some clues. I can go with Lieutenant Silveira, Gila and Mister Bergmen to track this down.
MacKenzie/Sadar/Silveira: Responses
Vailani: I think Commander Jovenan can help Ensigns Imril and Tho’Bi to uncover the secrets of the technology we recovered. Ensign Bancroft observed the technology in the underground compound - he would be useful to assist them.
MacKenzie/Sadar/Silveira: Responses
Vailani: That means yourself Captain, can host Major Oolwi and General Kexxin. Ensign Cole on guard and Richards can assist you.
