((Old West Simulation - Quark’s Bar, Grill, Gaming House and Holo-Suite Arcade - Deep Space Nine))

Stumbling into this dusty old simulation, the three varyingly drunk officers had one by one taken seats on logs. The campsite was bare bones, to say the least— a few tents here and there, a campfire, and a triangle of logs. The Yelikan carefully set her drink on the most even ground she could find as the conversation continued.

Adea: Nonononono, that’s waaaaay too much information… ::he realised he was repeating himself:: Again.

She jumped slightly as Talos’ palm made a very audible ‘slap’ against his own face.

Dakora: Holy friggin’ strokes! ::He shook his head.:: We haven’t! Nothing has ever… Why are we even talking about this!?

Yellir: I feel awful asking this, cause I know she would probably end me. But do you think she ever considered…?

Hallia did in some way feel bad for Talos, reluctant to needle further. But it was difficult to stop the lines upon lines of questions when Genkos began rolling that ball. She wasn’t one for gossip— but she never passed up an opportunity to listen.

Adea: I bet she has! She’s only human after all… ::he looked around realising none of the assemblage was human:: Bwhahahaahaha…

Her eyes narrowed, momentarily drifting her gaze to the ground. An intent stare sunk deep into the coarse dirt, almost taking a moment just to make sense of it all.

Dakora: I doubt it. ::He shook his head and stared down at the fire.:: She’s already married. To Starfleet. To the Artemis. ::He grinned.:: You know I thought maaaaybe. Maybe one day I might’ve been able to win her over– but that was before  I was her XO.

With a final sip of his drink, Talos tossed the rest of his drink into the campfire. It seemed just concentrated enough for it to flare up for a moment

Dakora: So, yeah, no. Nah– I don’t think so.

Yellir: I can see what you mean.

Genkos laughed, but it seemed like he was trying to reign it in. Just a bit.

Adea: But no, like is this a crush, or is it something more serious?

Hallia shifted her weight to the side, almost lying down as Talos shrugged and Genkos continued to press.

Dakora: I don’t know. The two of us have been through a lot together. There were times when we had to– I don’t know– depend on each other. Real life and death stuff. It’s hard not to start thinking about the maybes and the what-ifs after stuff like that. You know?

Yellir: It’s easy to bond over collective trauma. Might also be something strictly platonic. Platonic good-buddies never hurt anyone did it?

Adea: Response

Dakora: What about you two!? ::He pointed to Genkos and slurred out a few more words:: I know YOU managed to bag a whole Commodore. How the heck did that happen?

Adea: Response?

With dopey nods Hallia actively tried to shrink herself away, seeing where this was going. Making herself as small as possible, hoping that their collective drunk state might help skip over her.

Dakora: And what about you Hallia? I feel like you’re being suspiciously quiet…

As the XO pointed her out she placed a hand on her chest feigning an offended expression.

Yellir: Me? What? Quiet? No— Never! I’ve-I’ve been happily on my own for a very long time and I’m completely okay with that.

Adea/Dakora: Response?

She gesticulated with limp hands as she seemed to stumble over her own words.

Yellir: Hey— I’m allowed to window shop. But I have been far too busy to indulge in maintaining a relation—tionship like that. Also, I don’t think it would be appropriate for me as a Department Head.

Adea/Dakora: Response?
