((Sickbay, USS Artemis-A))

Genkos tapped his cane lightly but repetitively against the carpeted floor of the examination wing of his sickbay. His patient, Kel Solas, was late, and Genkos was trying to hide his displeasure. He’d already had to reschedule the appointment once after Solas missed it, and now he was being kept waiting. One might think that a Starfleet medical officer would get used to patients ducking appointments, but alas, it was the one thing that still infuriated him.

Eventually, Solas waddled into sickbay, leaning on a crutch. This immediately melted the good doctor’s grumpiness in a show of solidarity with the limping officer. Genkos was about to speak when Solas cut him off.

Kel: I know I know, late again….. to the check up we had to schedule because I missed the last one.

Adea: Better late than never, Ensign.

Solas grunted and hoisted himself up onto the exam bed. Genkos hit the buttons that kicked the biobed into life and waited as it carried out its automatic scans.

Kel: You told me to get some rest and recover. Maybe I’m a bit….too relaxed is all.

Genkos pursed his lips in a subtle show of amusement.

Adea: Well it’s a fine line, balancing that.

He didn’t add - that it was a fine line learning to balance at all when one relied on a cane. However, Solas had his own dark mutterings to add.

Kel: Well….at least I’m keeping off of it.

Adea: That’s very true.

Genkos looked at the results of the biobed scan and tapped to see the details of the deep tissue scan.

Adea: Well it’s all looking promising, any pain that I should know about?

Kel: Response

Genkos gently rotated the foot, seeing how much the thing would move. He had scheduled Solas some appointments with the physiotherapist Kafkazet, and the results the Zaranite had shown him had seemed promising.

Adea: I see, and movement - how does this feel? Tight? Painful at all?

Kel: Response

Chief Medical Officer

USS Artemis-A

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
