OOC: I know we are moving on to the next mission but I am just tying up Sil’s arch.
There will be a part 3 for finish this, and another scene that happens before this series.
I will reply to the Awards scene tomorrow

((USS Artemis, deck 3, Silveira’s quarters))
It took Vitor a while before he chose what to wear. He had taken his formal uniform out of the rack, but the all white felt inappropriate for a funeral.
He delved for a while before settling into a dark gray suit, white shirt and black tie.
He put the jewel box in his pocket and he picked his combadge. Tapping it he opened a comline.
Silveira: =/\= Silveira to Jovenan
Jovenan: =/\=Response
Silveira: =/\= Everything is set for the memorial. You can join me in the Arboretum if you wish.
Jovenan: =/\=Response
Vitor smiled sadly as he nodded, even if Nan couldn’t see him.
Silveira: =/\= Very well, Sil out.
Taking a deep breath he straightened his suit. Fighting the lump that was tightening his throat he stepped out.
((USS Artemis, deck 3, Arboretum))
Vitor couldn’t thank the staff enough. Jas had delivered, as he expected, and the Arboretum staff had set it up perfectly. There was no sign that the headstone had just been set there a few hours ago. The grass around it was perfectly trimmed and the oak tree near it provided a good shade.
It was a discreet location, almost at the edge of the Arboretum, and although the headstone was more elaborate than he at first envisioned, he was glad to allow Jas to convince him.
Vitor leaned down. His fingers crossed through Jo’s chiseled name. The
headstone was cold to the touch. He closed his eyes and stood there for a second.
His mind flew him back to Jo. To her smile, to her touch. To the moment they shared in the now deleted holoprogram. He opened his eyes and stood up, blinking in a futile attempt not to cry.
He sensed motion behind him, and cleaned the tears before turning and offering Nan a sad smile
Silveira: Thank you for coming.
Jovenan: Response
Vitor nodded. He looked back at the headstone as he spoke.
Silveira: I originally thought of making just a simple one. But Ensign Chevalier talked me into making a nicer piece. He did a remarkable job. ::he turned back to Nan:: I just want to say a few words.
Jovenan: Response
Vitor stepped forward, taking the jewel case from his pocket.
Silveira: Nan has taught me about Edo ceremonies, something I didn’t really want to learn. I hope I understood enough of it so that you, where you might be Jo, can find the peace you deserve. ::he took a deep breath.:: Your choices saved us. Rest assured that there is no reason for you to linger on. Our lives carry on thanks to yours.
He took out the necklace from the jewel case, hanging it from the small branch on the left of the headstone, letting the
Heart gently down. Tears dropped to his cheeks.
Silveira: And please… Rest knowing that what we shared was beautiful. We will never truly know where our love would lead us. We never had a chance to build something from our feelings. And although I miss you more than I can express in words, I hold you in my heart for as long as I live. Be certain that more than the pain from your loss I find comfort in our love.
He knelled again, resting his hand in her name.
Silveira: Rest in peace my beloved Jo.
