((Jefferies Tube, Deck 5, USS Artemis))
One hit – it remained green. Two hits – still green. Jozial had intended to move on and fight the other officers in the cramped tube, but the combadge of her first target stayed stubbornly green, indicating he’s still kicking. The third hit would have landed on his head, if it weren’t for a no-fun officer flinging himself between the two.
Dakora: Crewman! ::He boomed:: That’s enough!
Renirs: Darn, there’s no need to be so loud! What is it? This is a drill, why can’t I play along?
The targeted officer checked the side of his head for blood. Jozial didn’t see well in the dark corridor, but she was fairly certain he had only received blunt strikes; broken bones, bruises, but no cuts nor bleeding.
Osuna: ::Sucking breath between clenched teeth:: I take it they don’t run drills like this during your enlisted training, hmm?
Dakora: Play along!? Did you just blow in from Starbase 80? That thing is not a simulated weapon and you didn’t simulate trying to bludgeon the Security Chief to death, you actually did it.
Blah blah blah. Yet another stiff officer lecturing about “safety” and “protocol”, as if she hadn’t heard it all before. This is the guy Jozial should have beaten, the real target seemed chill compared to him. So, he is the Chief of Security, huh? Wonder if he has an opening for an experienced fighter…
Kliss’lai: Besides – ::indicating Renirs’ badge:: You’re dead.
She lowered her head and moved some of her floating long hairs from the way.
Renirs: Huh, look at that. Didn’t even realise it was red. Guess you hit me after all.
Jones: ::to Kliss'lai:: That was a nice shot, Kliss.
Kliss'lai: Probably wouldn't have taken it if this thing ::waggling the bluezer:: wasn't a trainer. I'm a good shot, but you two were moving around a bit.
Sure. But if the computer had done its job and turned the first guy a casualty or a corpse, Jozial would have beaten the whole lot dead. There’s no way she would have lost in a fair fight.
Dakora: Gabe, ::He grabbed the Chief’s Shoulder.:: Are you alright?
Osuna: It feels like I just got kicked in the face by a mule, but… pretty sure I’ll live. ::To Jones:: Doc?
Renirs: Don’t blame me! The computer said it was okay to use blunt weapons or something!
The darn thing lied.
One of the other officers, a blue-shirt, moved closer to the Security Chief to check his condition.
Jones: I can wrap your head, sir, but I'm sorry to say I don't have a real medkit on me. This wasn't supposed to be a situation where that would be required.
Jozial rolled her eyes. It’s a drill, but what kind of a doctor doesn’t carry their real tools with them? After all, Jozial didn’t have a simulated hyperspanner with her either. It was a real thing, as the gravity-disabling-computer-wrecking tag of officers had found out. The Chief of Security grunted – see, he agrees!
Osuna: Great… ::Looking over his shoulder, wincing:: Crewman… What was it?
Renirs: ::upwards nod:: Renirs. Jozial with friends.
Osuna: Renirs… Remind me to put you on the roster for the Artemis’ baseball team. We could use a slugger like you.
Yup. This guy was her favourite of the bunch. Too bad he’s a bad fighter, Jozial would have turned him into red mist if it weren’t for the Andorian sharpshooter. The Doc had moved to the Stuffy Commander and was scanning his condition. Jozial noted his badge was yellow, yet she hadn’t caused that. They had probably engaged in some sort of a fight out of the Tube.
Dakora: ::To Jones.:: How is he? Do I need to call off our part of the drill?
Jones: We're not that far from sickbay. Another 45 seconds, and the commander here will be green again. How are you feeling? Do you require immediate medical attention, or should we proceed with the plan since you're still green?
Osuna: I wouldn’t say no to a dose of Hydro… ::Figuring that answer was unexpected:: Not my first ‘cranial injury’… Besides, we need to get moving. Might as well travel with a destination in mind, hmm? ::To Dakora:: Talos?
The Stuffy’s badge turned green at the hands of the Doc.
Dakora: Alright to sickbay it is then. They probably won’t be expecting us to go there. :: To Gabe.:: But if you start to feel any worse, just say the word and we’ll call this off and get an emergency site-to-site to sickbay.
Jones: ::indicating Renirs:: What about her? Technically she's a dead body, as far as the exercise goes.
Stuffy just shrugged.
Osuna: You wanna sit out the rest of your death sentence here in the tube, Renirs, or go back to your quarters? ::Pointing to the hatch behind them:: That way’s sealed, so if you’re going home, you’re coming with us.
For a moment, Jozial had been enthusiastic about getting the rest of the day off. After all, dead people can’t clean up a mess in Jefferies Tube nor continue working on bio-neural circuitry maintenance. But since the hatch was sealed, the way out was a bit longer, with a thousand times more boring company.
Renirs: Ugh. Guess I’ll stick with you lot for now.
Osuna: Fine. ::To Dakora, Kliss’lai:: One of you two wanna take point for a few?
The officers began to form a queue within the tube, while Jozial stayed a bit further back. She didn’t want to take part in these people’s formation, and probably shouldn’t either, given that she’s dead.
Dakora: I’ve got point. Let’s roll.
Kliss'lai: Right behind you, Commander.
Renirs: You guys might want to avoid Juncture Gamma-7-2. There’s a bit of a mess in there. ::smirk:: You can blame it all on yourselves, it wasn’t me who turned off the gravity.
Jones: Response
((Near Sickbay, Deck 7, USS Artemis))
The journey through the Tube went swiftly. Stuffy found and opened a hatch back to the proper corridors, and the Security glided out. This deck didn’t have gravity either, which was probably better for the injured guy, because he wouldn’t need to walk. Jozial followed Doc and Sharpshooter, and the officers closed the hatch behind them.
But as soon as Jozial made it out and the hatch was closed, she could hear a new sound. Turning around, she tried to find the source of the hissing the team had also noticed.
Osuna: Is that coming from the ECU?
Dakora: Looks like it to me. ::He scowled.:: Tell me that’s not what I think it is…
Kliss’lai/Jones: Response
Renirs: Looks like your friends are trying to gas you out. ::smirk:: Getting beaten up with a hyperspanner doesn’t seem so bad thing to do anymore, does it?
The gas began to fill the corridor and found its way to the mouths and nostrils of the officer team and Jozial. She felt like her head was spinning around, and she lost the sense of up and down momentarily. If it weren’t for the lack of gravity, she might have tripped.
Osuna: ::Pushing himself along the wall towards Sickbay:: Jones? ::Blinking severely:: The hell is this?
Dakora: Computer: Close all ECU vents in this corridor, authorization: Dakora-Sierra-India-Xray-Niner-Alpha-Foxtrot.
Computer: Access denied: Override Code is temporarily disabled by Artemis Command.
Dakora: Crap.
Renirs: Computer, you big ::trying to stay awake:: ugh.
Kliss’lai/Jones: Response
Jozial began to regret sticking it with the officer gang. If the gas was released in order to subdue the saboteur team, she was just a collateral casualty in the fight against them. Then again, had she had any other choice but to come?
Osuna: ::Slurring his words, pointing lazily:: Sickbay?
Dakora::Lazily:: Yeah.Ye-yes. Sickbay.
The Security and Stuffy had managed to direct them to the Sickbay. Stuffy pushed himself and one of the other officers towards the door, which opened as they got closer. Jozial was by the same wall, so she lifted her legs against it and jumped vertically across the corridor towards the door. She bumped into the Andorian Sharpshooter on her way, propelling them both to the right direction.
Renirs: ::trying to be intimidating, but coming off as sleepy and non-threatening:: Move it…
Kliss’lai/Jones: Response
She was just about to lose her consciousness when she crossed the barrier to the Sickbay. The air inside was much clearer, and she gasped as if she had been in water and survived drowning, which, to be fair, wasn’t much different from what had happened.
Dakora: What in the ::He coughed as clean air entered his lungs again.:: name of the Four was that about!?
Renirs: ::breathing loud:: Your friends really don’t like you if they’re doing that to you.
Osuna/Jones/Kliss’lai: Response
Some more blue-shirts flew to their direction, looking confused at the team as they were having a breath. Jozial realised the officer gang and the doctors were probably in different teams in the drill, and the Sickbay people hadn’t expected the enemy to come through the door, stop and stay there coughing.
Dakora: Whose bright idea was it to ::He coughed again.:: try and gas us!?
Doctor: I’m not sure what you mean, Sir.
Ugh, all officers are tools. Is something in the water in the Academy to turn them like this, or do they start out like this and only apply to the Academy for the company of the like-minded?
Renirs: ::annoyed:: Why don’t you step out and find out!
Osuna/Jones/Kliss’lai: Response
Stuffy didn’t continue arguing but pointed at Security and began to give orders to the blue-shirts.
Dakora: Lieutenant Osuna needs medical attention and I need a commline to Captain MacKenzie. ::He scowled.:: Something is wrong here.
Jozial frowned. It sounded awfully lot like her rest of day off was cancelled.
Renirs: ::to herself:: Ugh. Can’t get a break even by being dead.
Osuna/Renirs/Jones: Response
