((OOC: Continued the split post setup.))
(( Transporter Room 1, Deck 4, USS Artemis-A ))
Sadar: I-I’ve read up on what sparse information we have on Galaris IV while preparing the medkits. In almost all aspects, it’s a standard Class M world, with the one caveat that its oxygen concentration is thinner than average. It’s nothing that should prove hazardous to our health, b-but I wouldn’t recommend strenuous exercise while planetside.
Gnai: This will be fine, at least!
Tho’Bi: ::looks around the group:: I-I can carry a little extra weight (beat) not sa-saying anyone n-needs me to ::looks at deck:: but (beat) ::swallows and looks up:: if it’s helpful ::shrugs::
Dakora: Responses
Vailani: :: unsure :: Everyone should check they have everything they need. We may be on the surface for some time and the Grunden don't have replicators.
Sadar: Y-Yes Vai-net...
Gnai: Are there any other final preparations to be done before beam-down? This is ready to go…!
Tho'Bi: Erm… Are we erm (beat) ::tilts head one way, then other:: ta-taking phasers?
Dakora: Response
(( Hallway, Deck 4, USS Artemis-A ))
Natasha had stowed her personal effects in her assigned quarters. Though she wasn’t sure who her roommate was just yet, she was sure they would likely get along. She had picked up her away mission gear, and was able to request a spare energy cell for her phaser. The last thing she wanted was a repeat of what happened on the Camisa Roja.
(( Transporter Room 1, Deck 4, USS Artemis-A ))
The swoosh of the Transporter Room door opening seemed to pause the conversation; as Natasha entered dressed in an Operations Division uniform. This one felt more comfortable than the Cadet one. As she entered she made note of the officers assembled, and faced the Lieutenant Commander.
Cole: Ensign Natasha Cole reporting for duty, Sir. I hope I am not late.:: standing at parade rest ::
Sadar: Oh, uhh... ::mentally runs through recent transfer orders for name:: W-Welcome Ensign Cole. N-No, you’re, uhh... R-Right on time.
Tho’Bi: ::nodding to acknowledge Cole:: Ensign Tho’Bi (beat) Engineering.
Natasha nodded acknowledging the Lieutenant and other Ensigns’ greetings. She looked forward to getting to know her new crewmembers in time, but that would have to wait till after their mission.
Cole: Pleasure to meet you Ensign Tho’Bi, and Lieutenant :: beat as she recalled the crew list she glanced at :: Sadar.
Dakora: Response
Transporter Chief: Sirs, there's been a last minute alteration to the beam down location. General Kexxin has requested you meet him at the Grunden Base Camp before you go to the city?
oO well that bodes well Oo
Natasha thought as she made note of everyone’s reaction to the newest information. Though she didn’t like the sudden change, she’d adapt. Theoretically this Grunden Base Camp should be secure.
Vailani: :: under her breath :: Typical military…
Sadar: B-B-Base Camp!? ::blinks:: A-As in... The front line?
Cole: Typically Base Camps are not on the front line, that would be a Forward Operations Base, should be more secure. :: consoling ::
Dakora/Gnai: Response
(( Grunden Base Camp - Kydon ))
As the away team materialized in the Grunden Base Camp Natasha’s eyes adjusted to her surroundings. The sky’s pristine blue was filled with clouds and columns of thick black smoke. The acrid smell hung in the air. The camp was a mix of canvas tents and ramshackle shelters. Natasha made note of the layout ascertaining where they were in the camp. Noticing Ensign Tho’Bi looking up she did as well seeing the structer blending in the natural surroundings of the tree canopy, it was a clever camouflage design.
Vailani: So far so good. This is a well organised base camp :: nods to the holo rocks :: And well defended.
Sadar: Tents... ::considers:: M-Maybe a strategy to circumvent resource dwindling? If the Kobyar’s air superiority is as pronounced as the brief suggests, more permanent base camps might, uhh... N-Not be a good idea.
Tho’Bi: ::quietly to Dakora:: Sir, ::nods in direction of some of the holo-rocks:: I’m sensing heartbeats within those holographic rocks (beat) probably Grunden.
Cole: :: Surveying their surroundings :: Should we knock?
Dakora/Gnai/: Response
As Ensign Tho’Bi was focused on the heavy pad, Natasha noticed a pair of stocky humanoids strode toward them. They must be the welcoming party.
Vailani: I guess we're going that way.
Tho’Bi: ::nodded::
Cole: It would appear so.
Dakora/Gnai: Response
