(( Chief Operations Officers Office - Deck 5 - USS Ronin))
Zoyara found the Tellarite, former Chief of Ops, fascinating to speak with on one hand and on the other she found him needlessly ... offensive. The way he slurped at the tea turned her stomach.
Yet, she couldn't help but admire that he didn’t mind sharing his opinions, a trait that she also shared. She was interested to hear more about what he thought of the crew and how things were run around here.
Vailani: Was that why you hated the job so much?
Vel: ::gulping down tea noisily:: Yeah, pretty much. This crew, they’re all mavericks, disorganised and vague.
Disorganised and vague happened to be things she was forced to become an expert in after her time on the Ronin - she lived in fear that they’d get themselves caught in a never ending timeloop or a black hole now she wasn’t there to stop them. She was yet to see any of the craziness that was just an everyday occurrence in the Alpha Isles on the Artemis, but she had only just arrived.
Vailani: Everyone seems :: sips her tea as she thinks of the right word :: Responsible? You should have seen my last crew. What makes them so bad?
Vel: Well, you’ve got the Captain who “manufactures” airlock malfunctions, an XO who has a libido the size of a moon, a CMO who can’t cure himself, and a bunch of lower deckers who range from homicidally insecure to insecurely homicidal.
Zoyara’s eyes widened as she placed her tea cup on the tray. The Captain didn’t appear murderous but she had the reputation of airlocking ensigns - and there was that one occurence she had read about. As for Dakora, she didn’t care what he did with his horg’ahn as long as he done it as far away from her as possible. The CMO she had yet to meet personally, and now she was left with the impression he was useless.
Vailani: Is there anyone on the crew you actually like? Besides yourself that is.
Vel: Response
She nodded at the Tellarite’s words and tried to - politely - look away when he took another disgusting slurp at the jumja tea.
Vailani: You're supposed to :: raises her cup :: sips on the tea :: take a small sip :: Savour the taste of the jumja :: indicates the replicator :: I can replicate you another drink if you’d rather … slurp? I think something with more substance might be :: queasy :: more appropriate?
Vel: Response
Vailani: Okay, well it’s been - memorable :: indicates her desk :: I should really try and get some work started. Sounds as if I have my work cut out for me.
She felt a sense of pride that she didn’t just tell him to leave, which is exactly what she wanted to do. Instead she hoped that by showing manners he might learn to adopt them himself one day. If not, she would try a more direct approach - rank or no rank.
Vel: Response
((OOC: happy to continue the scene if Vel has any other perils of wisdom he’d like to share or end here, whichever you choose))
