Jovenan: What do you expect me to tell you? ::nearly crying:: I already told you why and they’ll soon find out what.

Reasoning with the Commonwealth brutes was pointless. Her interrogators were a telepath who felt pleasure of other’s suffering and a robot programmed to absolute loyalty and disregard to humanoid life. There was little she could do to win them to her side.

The Betazoid sadist stepped closer to her and pressed the pistol against her stomach. She winched slightly out of fear as her continued existence became dependent on the whim of the man. While she could control her body from shaking violently, she couldn’t prevent the pain that took over her head. She wasn’t certain what it was, but she had her premonition. Suspecting the telepath might be exploring the edges and corners of her mind, she desperately attempted to keep him at bay by focusing on mundane things, ranging from her family members to old lecture notes. But, in her state of mind, she couldn’t keep reins of her mind, but Sil’s blue eyes and the tunes of waltz re-emerged to her head.

Adea: Oh my…

Chevalier: Response

Jovenan opened her eyes. She had failed, she had ratted Sil out despite her best attempts. A single tear drop fell along her cheek as she faced the evil grin on the Betazoid’s face.

Her options were growing thin. She had been strong so far, but she was feeling her willpower diminishing. Yet she refused to give up just yet. She made one more desperate attempt to make them stop.

Jovenan: And… and what do you think of doing to me? You can’t… you can’t kill me. You still need me to get back to home. None of you know how the prismagons work, and my counterpart won’t help you after this.

Adea: I mean, I can absolutely kill you. But I reckon the Captain will want to airlock you herself.

Jovenan was terrified, but the threat had minimal effect on her. Ever since she had signed the contract to be placed in secondment to a Commonwealth ship, she had known it might be a one-way trip. She had made sure to report to the Divine Fleet of their progress, but when the Colonel had announced that they’d board a Shint vessel she had known the last report was going to be the last one. It wasn’t easy, and she was afraid, but she had accepted the fact that she might die on this mission.

Chevalier: Response

Jovenan: K-kill me now or in a minute, I don’t care. You’ll do anyway, I don’t see why I should help you in the meanwhile.

Adea: However, if you don’t help us get home, I will personally walk onto the Artemis, head into your beloved’s quarters and then, repeatedly and aggressively, bring down my counterpart’s cane onto his head. From what I understand ::he grinned wickedly:: it wouldn’t be the first time.

The blow left Jovenan shaking. The Betazoid had violated the privacy of her own thoughts and was brutally using them against her. She was prepared to face her own demise, but she wasn’t ready to let Sil be harmed because of her. The image of Sil’s broken body emerged to her brain, and she couldn’t hold her cry within.

Jovenan: ::crying:: Please, no! I – I’ll comply, I’ll do anything, just don’t hurt him!

Chevalier: Response

Jovenan couldn’t stop pained whimpering. The cruel monster in front of her knew which strigs to pull to make her weak, to force her to knees and beg. Her eyes were red as a stream of tears fell down to her uniform, leaving wet spot on it. Her mind was covered by a thick fog, and she couldn’t tell when the Colonel had joined them. She didn’t want to listen to the heartless criminals talking, she only wanted to rest her head against Sil’s chest and cry while he combed her hair with his fingers. Or if she was denied that, to lie down in fetal position, pull out her hair and end her days.

MacKenzie: We’re good to go. Are you ready to go wrangle up some of your comrades, Commander Adea?

Adea: Response

Jovenan tried hard to get a hold of herself. She raised her head slightly to look at the leader of the monsters.

MacKenzie: She can come with us. ::turning to face Jovenan:: She makes one wrong move and I’ll kill her.

Adea: Response

Jovenan: ::whimpering:: I- I’ll do what you want.

MacKenzie: Alright, everyone. You have your orders. Let’s move out.

Any: Response

Jovenan was forced to stand up, and she walked behind the two cruel things. She and her interrogators rejoined the rest of the team. They didn’t remain in the computer lab, however, but they left it behind them and moved to the corridors. With the inhuman robot behind her and her mind likely in the sadist’s leash, she couldn’t imagine trying to run away or do anything else reckless. Submissively, she followed them.

MacKenzie/Adea/Any: Response

Jovenan didn’t look them at the eyes when she replied.

Jovenan: My… my counterpart was studying the prismagons. They probably have them in a lab or something. You need all three and a lot of very specific type of energy to trigger the dimensional crossing.

MacKenzie/Adea/Any: Response

Jovenan continued to walk with them, letting the conversation to run a bit before daring to speak to her captors.

Jovenan: What… What will you do to the Artemis crew? Send them off in shuttles, take them with you? Or… k… k…

She couldn’t finish.

MacKenzie/Adea/Any: Response
