((Taste of the Quadrants – Deck 229, Deep Space 224))
The smell of the food was an interesting blend of spice and a hint of something she couldn’t place. As the holo-waiter set down everyone’s dish’s Natasha wondered if she might have room for dessert.
Richards: Let’s hope this place lives up to expectations. I’m starving.
Cole: It all smells really good, not sure which to dig into.
MacKenzie: That makes one of us. I haven’t had good hasparat since we had shore leave on Bajor.
Richards: It looks like it should. That’s a good start.
Cole: I was sorry to hear about General Kexxin, he was a good man who wanted peace. ::moment of silence:: I wonder if he thought all human women are redheads.
MacKenzie: He was ahead of his time. That planet has a lot to work through. It won’t be easy, but I’m confident they’ll achieve a lasting peace.
Richards: Yeah, hopefully Kexxin finally has some peace.
Natasha nodded and looked at her drink. She wondered if Sam mentioned to Kexxin the nickname she thought of for the three of them. The corner of her mouth twitched into a subtle smile. He probably would have been amused by it.
Addison pointed to the other food on the table.
MacKenzie: How is it?
Richards: It’s everything I have been dying for. I’m absolutely coming back here before we leave. ::tilting her head to the side:: How’s yours?
MacKenzie: Response
Cole: This stew is quite good, ::swallowing a spoonful:: flavor is robust with a nice kick of spiciness.
The table fell into a small silence of only cutlery on the dishes. Natasha was hungrier then she realized as she polished off the Talaxian stew. She could feel a heat in her face from the spices from the stew. It was spicier than she expected, thankfully her drink helped ease the heat.
Richards: ::Looking at Nat:: We should have told Kexxin about that nickname you came up with for the three of us. ::Gesturing to herself, then to Nat and MacKenzie:: I bet he would have thought the “Cherry Bombs” was great.
Cole: ::blushing a little, or the spice of her meal had made her cheeks flush:: I think he would have probably laughed, or think we were actual explosives.
MacKenzie: Response
Cole: I had a few other names floating around, but that one just stuck out.
Natasha picked up part of her hasparat. It reminded her of a sandwich wrap, it looked like it was prepared with some kind of brine, that was interesting. Taking a bite out of it Natasha’s eyes started to water and she could swear her mouth was literally on fire now.
