(( Intensive Care Unit - Primary Sickbay, Deck 07, USS Artemis-A ))

Lorana: But you used multiple machines. That would mean that this repeating cycle was intentional :: sighs :: There’s several reasons why they would do this. They may have been insane, or didn’t realise. Or they were trying to correct themselves with technology that they believed served that purpose. Could it be that the transporters also served a medicinal purpose? That would explain the widespread alterations we’re seeing.

Bancroft: Response

Imril: If that’s just how those transporters work, like their version of a biofilter, the resulting damage needn’t have been deliberate. A genuine error could have been repeated enough times to appear intentional.

Lorana: Questions we may never fully get the answers too. I am more inclined to believe that on some level this began as intentional gene alterations. Perhaps they felt it was necessary to alter themselves to survive in the harsh conditions of their world after the disaster befell them?

Imril: Wait, wait, wait! Back up! ::To Jaran::  Structure in and around my hypothalamus? As in something other than and distinct from my hypothalamus?

Luxa gave a gloomy look to Roy.

Lorana: Remember what I said about your energy, Imril.

She indicated for him to come to the side with her for a private discussion.

((OCC: Cutting that which Imril was clearly not meant to hear))

But Caitian body language could give a lot away, if one knew what to look for. And one of Imril’s favorite teachers at the Academy -- Professor M’Sharaay -- happened to be Caitian, so they were familiar with the little flicks and fur-ruffles and other tells. Imri could guess that she had some sort of plan worked out. And yet, she had chosen to discuss this news away from them.

Seeking some sort of answer, they turned to Jaran again, looking for a reply to their question regarding their hypothalamus. And then realized how far away the Bajoran Doctor was. Occupied with an entirely different team and conversation.

Imril: .oO(::Surprised:: Oh!!!)Oo.

Imril: .oO(::Concerned:: Oh.)Oo.

It seemed a little more stubbornness and compartmentalization was due on their part.

Bancroft: Response

The pair returned and gave Imril the news of the intended procedure.

Bancroft/Lorana: Response (if needed here)

Imril: Whatever you think is best. I know I’m in good care.

They lay back down on the bed and waited for whatever was to come next.

And tried not to scratch the sudden itch in their mis-shappen leg.

... Or was that growing pains?

((OCC: This looks like a good place to close it for Imril, but feel free to move them around to different parts of the Sickbay as needed.))

((OOC2: M’Sharaay is an import of an old PC of mine who ended up teaching at the Academy in other RPGs.))
