to USS Artemis-A – StarBase 118 Star Trek PBEM RPG
(( Elysium - Deck 6, USS Artemis-A ))
Vitor smiled tiredly. Sitting next to Nan this was going to be one of the few ceremonies he would likely not be so effusive. Nan smiled at him as Zie was about to start.
It had been, at least in general, a good shore leave.
They raced on the Arcade, had a cowboy adventure in the old west and visited Jonathan and Thera. That all helped ease the failure he still felt over his “command moment”.
But the addition of responsibility, with him now heading Security and Tactical, needed some work, and he still hadn’t finished the document he was writing regarding the relevant changes he felt needed.
The upgrade to a stronger ship, or the reinforcement and addition of more ships to support the Artemis. After all they were a Flagship and in a volatile region of space.
Also he knew that Ava was likely on it, but now he truly wanted to pull up some resources so they could find, track or at least help locate Zoy.
And obviously his latest trip had brought forth a new problem, as Kona was still missing.
Vitor cheered and clapped as the others received their recognitions, and stood when his time came.
MacKenzie: Next, against my better judgment and in spite of the loss of my Captain's Skiff, I'm pleased to award the Starfleet Medal of Commendation to Commander Silveira, and Lieutenants Imril and Bergmen for choosing peace and avoiding conflict with the Nasciak at all costs.
K'Wara: ::inelegant snorting laugh::
Vitor arched an eyebrow at Tamio, and smiled at Ol and Imril who also had a little laugh.
Imril: Thank you, Captain.
Bergmen: It’s an honor, ma’am.
Silveira: Thank you Captain.
He nodded and returned to his seat, applauding as the ceremony continued, and cheering the promotions. It had been rough, but somehow they made it through.
Still there was a lot of unfinished business. And he saw one walking towards him, in the form of Alex.
Storm: Are you relieved that it’s all over, Sil?
Vitor smiled and nodded. He would be lying if he said yes. But he wasn’t going to explain why he thought it wasn’t over.
Silveira: I am relieved when we get back to our space. How is Cassie?
Storm: Cassie’s doing well. Thanks for asking. I’ve hired a full-time Betazoid caregiver, trained in tactical - given that Kona is still out there somewhere, I felt it … necessary.
He nodded, it was understandable and if Alex hadn’t thought of that Vitor was going to suggest it.
Silveira: Good thinking.
Storm: Any potential leads on where he took off to - or even if he’s still alive? Running out into an Andorian blizzard isn’t the safest of places he could have escaped to.
Vitor shrugged and reached for a glass of… Something.
Silveira: I feel that Kona is very resourceful, and there were no traces of a body. I pulled a few strings and there hadn’t been any Betazoid fatalities recently in Andoria. I have a few people working on it. But Kona knows the place and he has evaded us so he certainly has ways of escaping.
Storm: Response
Silveira: I asked Thera’s family for a little help. The MGia’s have some weight in Andoria society so… If they learn something we will soon know. ::He looked Alex straight in her eyes:: And Cassie is here now, we will protect her.
Storm: Response
Vitor forced a smile and shrugged.
Silveira: Honestly… I feel I need another shore leave. I have a few things I am working on so that I truly feel comfortable with also being Security Chief.
Storm: Response
