(( Deck 16, USS Artemis ))

Imril: I'm pretty sure I took some down time, Lieutenant.

Bergman let out a soft chuckle at the note; as he understood all too well this tendency to "work first, socialization second." But, as others pointed out, just because someone has concrete results to show for their hard work doesn’t necessarily mean they are valued. After all, not everyone views being a workaholic in a positive light. And for some reason, socializing was considered essential.

So, the lieutenant, somewhat clunky in his approach, tried to save the situation and invited the ensign for a casual get-together.

Bergmen: Come on, Ensign! Let’s go to grab a coffee and a snack in the mess hall, and then I'll be off your back. ::smiles::

Imril: If you're sure you have the time?

Ollie squinted at the tips of his boots, doing his best to stifle a pleased smile. He took a deep breath and counted to three before turning his gaze back to Imril.

Bergmen: I'm pretty sure I can spare a minute. ::nods with a friendly glance:: A little rest never hurts, or so they say… Especially when you get to enjoy something tasty in good company. ::smiles::

Imril logged his break and work done to PADD before making his way out of the Jefferies tube. Ollie didn’t need to worry about it, since—strictly speaking—he had already clocked off from his shift like an hour ago and was…off duty.

Imril: Thank you for the consideration, Sir.

oO Don’t worry about it, ensign… no, that sounds so official. Ehh, no problem, Imril? No, that’s too casual… Oo

Bergmen simply nodded, as he with his hands clasped behind his back, patiently waiting for the ensign to finish getting ready so they could head out together.

Bergmen: Let’s go?

(( Elysium – Main Lounge, Deck 6 – USS Artemis-A ))

Elysium remembered better times, that was obvious for sure.

The lieutenant surveyed the Lounge with a discerning eye, noting the subtle, minor cosmetic flaws lingering from the damage it had sustained during Artemis' encounter with the Orions. Welds and uneven paint betrayed the recent repairs, but he had to admit that the engineers had performed an impressive job; these imperfections would likely go unnoticed by a less trained eye. Yet, given that the ship was still docked, he felt confident knowing that any residual issues were bound to be addressed swiftly as soon as the priority repairs were cleaned from the repair list.

At least the replicators sparkled with a sense of newness.

Bergmen: Hummus, mango flavor, two pita breads. Drink - flat white, three sugars. ::glances to Imril:: And for you?

Imril: Response

The officers found a place to sit together and settled down to their refreshments. Bergmen took a sip of the coffee, followed by a taste of the hummus, and then nodded in approval, clearly pleased with the flavors, before he turned his gaze back on the ensign.

Bergmen: So, it will soon be one year with us, if I am right? How do you like it so far? Life in the Starfleet. Artemis…

Imril: Response
