(OOC: All PCs are considered members of the senior staff and should be in attendance. Feel free to sim your own arrival as a prequel to the events below.)

(( Conference Room – Deck 121, Deep Space 224 ))

It had become somewhat of an Artemis tradition that recognition for the previous mission’s work was often paired with a meal whenever possible. The commanding officer of the Artemis believed that moments like these were few and far between and deserved to be appreciated appropriately for the weight they carried: celebration for a job [generally] well done and an opportunity to engage in comradeship.

In the conference room, several tables had been set up in the shape of a U. Chairs had been arranged around the outer perimeter of the tables with a small lectern placed in the opening, several boxes already strategically placed. Off to the side, several tables lined with popular dishes representative of the races of all the senior staff. She’d issued strict instructions that they weren’t allowed to eat first – she had a schedule to keep, after all – and promised to herself she’d keep her remarks brief so they could eat well before the food thought of getting cold.

Fleet Captain MacKenzie bounded into the room, glad to find everyone already near their seats anticipating her arrival.

MacKenzie: Alright everyone, take your seats. Commander Munro, if you’ll join me, please.

She waited for the senior staff to be seated before she began.

MacKenzie: We had a very difficult task laid out before us on our last mission. Not only did we have to get to the bottom of who had been interfering in the war between the Kobyar and the Grunden, but we got swept up in the violence ourselves… and exposed the Orions for their involvement in the whole mess. I continue to be proud of the reputable work this crew does, and its upholding of the best values of Starfleet. On behalf of the Kobyar and Grunden governments, you have all our thanks for a job well done. Now, I have the privilege of handing out some specific recognitions…

MacKenzie offered a smile as her gaze passed between their newest crewmembers.

MacKenzie: While I know you have already received this ribbon, I would like to formally recognize the crew’s most recent recipients of the Starfleet Academy Graduate Ribbon: Ensigns Meris, Cole, and Bancroft.

She nodded to them and offered a smile while the others clapped.

Meris/Cole/Bancroft: Responses (if desired)

MacKenzie: Mediating peace talks between two races that share a planet and have been at war for what seems like forever is a near impossible task. However, the Artemis crew continues to demonstrate that it is adept at such work, and for our efforts trying to bring the Grunden and Kobyar together via Major Oolwi and General Kexxin, Starfleet has awarded the Diplomacy Ribbon to Samantha Richards, Ensign Cole, and me.

She nodded as Munro passed out the boxes to the recipients.

Cole/Richards: Responses (if desired)

MacKenzie took a deep breath, her gaze suddenly becoming serious.

MacKenzie: There were a lot of challenges we couldn’t have anticipated. Among others, and most seriously, was the capture of our officers. While it was only for a brief time, the captivity of our officers cannot go unrecognized, and as such, I hereby award the Prisoner of War Ribbon to Lieutenants Vailani and Silveira, and Ensign Bergmen.

(OOC: Lieutenant Sadar would also be on this list, but she did a bad…)

Vailani/Silveira/Bergmen: Responses (if desired)

MacKenzie: There was also some discipline-specific work I’d like to recognize; firstly, the particularly interesting way our new Andorian officer was able to secure rescue for the other members on his away team… I hereby award the Innovation Ribbon to Ensign Tho’Bi.

Tho’Bi: Response (if desired)

She watched Munro hand the box over.

MacKenzie: Likewise, the collaborative investigative efforts of several of our officers working to analyze, decipher, and interpret the technology we found on Galaris IV led to our uncovering those who were fueling this war. As such, I hereby award the Starfleet Investigation Ribbon to Commander Jovenan, and Ensigns Imril, Tho’Bi, and Bancroft.

Jovenan/Imril/Tho’Bi/Bancroft: Responses (if desired)

TBC…
