((Transporter Room 1 - Deck 04 - USS Artemis-A))

Commander Munro was grinning widely when Jira walked into the transporter room. Too widely for comfort. She'd sent a mysterious message about some activity on Ferenginar, then here she was. Grinning.

She also looked like she was dressed for an expedition. But unless the flora of Ferenginar was very strangely coloured, she wasn't going to be hiding anywhere with that shade of blue. So probably not overly dangerous. That's good.

oO And here I am in uniform. Oops. Oo

Munro: I'm glad you took me up on my offer, doctor. I wasn't sure if a cryptic message from the XO would be appreciated. I promise you it's entirely voluntary :: mischievous glint :: I do think you will like what I have planned.

"Entirely voluntary" from a superior officer, they'd found, was a tricky one. But why not at least hear what the plan was.

Jaran: My lobes are tingling with expectation. ::under their breath:: Is that even a Ferengi thing?

Munro: How does the Shrine of the Blessed Exchequer sound? :: pauses :: One of them but this one is the oldest on record according to the database shared by the Ferengi.

Ok, that was intriguing. Jira had been so dedicated to trying to piece out Ferengi religion with their cultural practices that they'd kind of entirely looked over visiting their explicitly religious sites. Cmdr. Munro was pretty insightful to figure that this would be hard for Jira to resist.

Jaran: You've piqued my interest! I've already been doing some study of Ferengi and their very unique religious traditions.

They knew the light in their eyes and what would almost certainly be classified as some sort of flailing with their hands gave away their very genuine excitement.

Munro: Great, no use in hanging around then.

Munro strode onto the transporter pad, with Jira close behind. Then the world changed.

((Shrine of the Blessed Exchequer, Shore of Kentar Sea, Ferenginar))

The coordinates given to Commander Munro had obviously been supplied by the Ferengi Tourism Bureau. The two of them materialised in the middle of a semicircle of garishly painted and decorated stalls selling items of dubious historical significance and memorabilia. And, of course, it was raining.

Mere moments after beaming down, a Ferengi merchant in furs and a golden headpiece approached them with arms wide.

Ferengi Merchant: Honoured guests! We welcome you to our humble piece of history here at the Original Shrine of the Blessed Exchequer.

The Ferengi gestured behind them, down a muddy path. And there was... nothing. Just trees. And rain.

Jaran: I'm sorry. I was under the impression that this would be some sort of... temple.

Munro: Response

Ferengi Merchant: Of course, of course. Due to the, em, valuable nature of this locale, you of course understand that to set eyes on our past...

He held out his hand, and all became clear. Jira had brought a small amount of latinum along, and they placed a slip in the supinating hand. The merchant grimaced, but gestured again.

A hologram of dense jungle fizzled out of existence, and the muddy path now led through the trees and to a moss covered stone structure with... wow, a lot of stairs.

oO That's a lot of stairs. But also, that's beautiful. Oo

Jaran: That's beau...

They thought better of what they were about to say. Too much interest would almost certainly drive up the price.

Jaran: Hmm. I guess it's ok. I've seen better.

Munro: Response

The Ferengi shook his head and walked off, muttering something about Starfleet types. Jira looked to Munro.

Jaran: It's your expedition, sir. Lead the way. All I did was hack through the underbrush.

Munro: Response
