He took another long sip before returning his gaze to Ana with a sad smile.
Silveira: Irony of ironies as an adult with his own child I ended up doing the exact same thing, and left that burden on Jonathan’s mother. ::He raised his glass.:: So you see Ana I really needed a good time.
Lorana: ::sympathetic:: That sounds tough, you're a lot more reflective than first meets the eye, Vitor. ::Lorana puts her paw on his hand:: I'm glad you've had a good time ::smirks:: What's with this Ana?
He smiled and winked at her. It wasn’t just the drink that made him open his heart to Ana.
Vitor always said he was an open book. He simply felt at ease with her and he knew he needed to vent. The exercise wasn’t enough and he needed to talk to someone about it.
Lucky for him she was there. Unlucky for her he would likely screw things up as always.
Silveira: What, you thought I would call you Luxa or Lor? No way. Besides, give enough time and drinks and I will make something that would likely have you calling me something worse. Like starting flirting with you.
Ana's eyes widen and her back straightens up, surprised. Vitor tipped his head. He was expecting some surprise but not necessarily shock. He wasn’t half bad looking.
And Ana was quite attractive. But clearly she hasn't heard anything about his reputation, at least not in that regard. And truthfully he wasn’t going that way for sure, not with all the drinks he had, certainly not with a friend with whom he had opened up to.
Lorana: ::shock:: Flirting. With me? ::Even more shock:: You? With me?
And looked confused, evading his eyes and putting down two more drinks in a sip. It was like she was looking for a hole to hide herself in.
Silveira: Well I don’t think I am that ugly. And you are very attractive so I don’t see what was the surprise. Besides the fact I mention some of my early mistakes doesn’t mean I want to make new ones. I don’t know what happened to you, but let me assure you I just see you as a friend.
Lorana: ::laughs:: You just took me by surprise, that's all ::looking at him seriously:: I'm not really good at understanding humans and the whole flirting thing. There was a human once, I misread the whole situation. Our friendship was the price I paid. We haven't spoken since.
Vitor smiled and grinned. It was understandable and he also didn’t want to give Ana the wrong impression. Curiously he recalled that old expression that used to “haunt” him.
“A leopard can’t change his spots”. That was something he had been struggling with in the last few years. Unknowingly Ana had given him a chance to check his spots.
See if they indeed would change.
The irony wasn’t strange to him. Here, on the Caitian homeworld, with a Caitian fellow officer Vitor the leopard was going to test the old expression.
He looked serious for a second, realizing how he was going back to his problems, to the serious things he always avoided and ran away from. From the responsibilities.
And more importantly from the old self fought battle of changing without changing too much of himself. Of growing without losing his childish traits, at least the good ones.
He shrugged.
Silveira: I understand and don’t worry, I intend to keep your friendship.
He hoped that put Ana’s mind at ease. Still, it was a shame.
oO She is very attractive. Oo
Lorana: ::laughs goodnaturedly:: Let's rejoin the dancers before you actually start flirting with me.
Ana took his hand in her paw.
Lorana: I've had a very pleasant evening.
Vitor smiled and winked at her.
Silveira: So did I.
oO And thank you Ana. You don’t realize how much of a help you have been. Oo
((OOC - It was great writing with you, thank you))
