((Vailani Zoyara Quarters 1785 - Deck 3 - USS Artemis-A))

Vailani: :: points to Tho’Bi :: There. That’s what you focus on. If you can’t dust yourself off, learn the lessons that need to be learnt and take them with you - then, with all due respect, you should transfer to Earth or one of the other Federation worlds where you can fix replicators and DOTs for ambassadors and diplomats. It’s a good life, there’s no shame in that. Predicable, stable and comfortable. Is that what you want?

She worried that her words may have been too harsh, but she figured Tho’Bi needed, no he wanted, to be jarred out of the melancholy. If not, he would learn that the counselling team are the best skilled for a more appetising way to digest hard facts. A win-win as far as she was concerned.

Tho’Bi nodded.

Tho’Bi: ::muttering to himself:: The wrong place.

Zoyara resisted an eye roll. All she wanted was her door to be repaired and now she was dealing with an ensign who looked to speak to himself - in fairness the least problematic of eccentricities - and she had the feeling that if this continued the door would not be fixed.

Then a crewman approached from DS244, wearing strange head garments that seemed to be playing loud music. That was two different citations that she’d be writing up once she established his name.

Leone: ::with bravado:: O! Looks like she already showed you the door! You still need this?

Zoyara scowled at the crewman.

A heavy thumb gestured in the direction of the replacement doorframe.

Tho’Bi: ::quiet friendly:: You're funny, Tony.

Zoyara then scowled at Tho’Bi.

oO you are friends with this? Oo

Leone: I deliver spare parts all day… What else am I gonna be?

Out of a commission? Written up for a running tally of infractions? Zoyara was losing count at this point and was feeling the enthusiastic zest that came from writing up citations. It reminded her of that time she spent on Ferenginar - and the weirdly satisfying accrual of a sizable sum of latinum.

The Andorian unloaded the replacement doorframe from off the sled.

Leone: ::to Vailani:: Look at that. He unloads the sled. I like this kid.

Zoyara shook her head, Starfleet must be desperate to have such an individual on DS224.

Tho’Bi: Thank you, Crewman.

Leone: ::to Tho’Bi:: Aye, Aye. Ensign Romeo! ::to Vailani:: LTV ::nods::

As the crewman exited, Zoyara was unsure why he didn't just leave the doorframe with the very capable Artemis crew and spare her from his unpleasant presence.

The Andorian Engineer began attaching the new doorframe by lining up first the inside and then outside frames.

Tho’Bi: ::quiet:: Thank you, Lieutenant.

He began to attach the bolts to the inside of the frames.

Tho’Bi: Thank you for listening.

Zoyara had been completely blindsided by the interloper that she had completely forgotten about the conversation they had had.

Vailani: Who was that?! Do you know who his superior officer is?!

Tho’Bi: Response

Vailani: I don’t know where to start. The fact that he was sauntering around this ship with those death traps on his head while operating an anti-grav unit - a first year cadet would know better than that. His language. I don’t even know what Romeo is but I know I don’t like it. It sounds disgusting. I don't appreciate it.

Tho’Bi: Response

Zoyara looked straight at Tho’BI, took several steps closer, her eyes locked on his. On the surface of Kydon she had seen a side to him that was almost a glimpse to the officer he could be, and she was proud. Now all she felt was disappointment.

Vailani: I don’t know what you are about Tho’Bi? I barely know you but I like to think you want to do well here and somehow I don’t know what well is to you? Laying on the floor in my quarters? Bumbling around, falling over, and muttering to yourself? And now this? Hanging out with some rude dockie like your one of the boys. It’s :: beat :: you know what, I don't care. You’ll be who you are going to be.

Zoyara waved a dismissive hand towards him, before she was tempting to say anything else and turned to enter her quarters. She quickly realised that Tho’Bi hadn’t finished with the door and it stood unmoving in front of her. She stopped, her cheeks blushed, and turned to face Tho’Bi again.

Vailani: That was supposed to be a dramatic exit :: then :: What do you have to say for yourself?

She crossed her arms and waited for an explanation.

Tho’Bi: Response
