(( Arboretum - Deep Space 9 ))

Commander Adea's order to "relax" and "have fun" was... not what Gnai had expected going into the mandatory check-up. The commander was right though... It needed something light as a break from the mission. Something to make all of this just a little easier to deal with.

Thankfully, Gnai was easy to appease. One of the things that it found most fulfilling, and why it had joined Starfleet in the first place, was seeing new places and exploring. Shore leave on Deep Space 9 was a thrilling prospect for exactly that reason, with so many different things to see. Bajor hung nearby with its moons, the wormhole and the Gamma Quadrant as a whole were easily accessible, and the station was also full of all sorts of sights.

It wasn't exactly a biologist, nor did it really have an affinity for biology... but the chance to make a better connection with one of the other officers on the ship was not something it would pass up. Hopefully there would be signs posted to tell more about where the plants came from rather than just the plants themselves. In case conversation lulled.

The whole place was lush with life, full of all shades of green, and a few other colors to boot. Gnai had arrived just a smidge earlier than they had planned, just in case. And just as it had expected, there was Cmdr. Adea. And his dog, as promised. That would be... interesting.

Gnai: Commander Adea! It is good to see you.

It bobbed up and down in its tank, trying to replicate a bit of a polite nod like humanoids often offered upon greeting. The dog got a brief wave from the suit. What was... the proper way to interact with such a thing?

Adea: Response

Gnai: And it is good to make acquaintances with your pet.

Adea: Response

Another bob in its tank.

Gnai: Would it be acceptable to continue talking telepathically again?

Gnai wasn't certain if that would be rude, considering that there was now also another being with them. When it was just the two of them in the medical office, there was no worry about anyone feeling left out, or finding the interaction strange. But with a dog with them...

Adea: Response
