Jashkaa’s brows moved, almost imperceptibly, towards the middle of her forehead in a frown, but she controlled her face to ensure Gila could in no way pick up on it. Instead she slightly shook her head. Gila had tried, inexpertly, to move the conversation back to her proposed survey mission, and Jashkaa was unimpressed.
Jashkaa: We still have a few minutes left, Gila.
Sadar: ::dejected:: Y-Yes Sir.
The counsellor gave her a severe look for a moment, reminding her that she didn’t like ranks in her office.
Jashkaa: With cooking, would you be up to hosting a dinner party - a few friends, a few drinks, a home cooked meal?
It was like Jashkaa had asked Gila to serve her firstborn at the dinner.
Sadar: Wh-Wh-Wh- ::she took a very shallow breath:: N-no, not at all, I-I’m a dabbler, an amateur! I-I would never-
Jashkaa held up a slender green hand, which stopped the Mizarian dead in her tracks.
Jashkaa: It doesn’t have to be formal, it can be very relaxed. Have you ever done anything like that?
There was a slight pause as Gila clearly tried to calculate how to get out of it.
Sadar: ... W-Well... I, uhh... I-I technically hosted an Aailudet last shore leave? ... An, uhh... A ‘housewarming’? The food was replicated...
Jashkaa: Then this time, don’t replicate the food. It doesn’t have to be many people - two, three guests.
Sadar: ... I-I could... T-Try...
Jashkaa levelled her gaze at Gila for a moment, unblinkingly.
Jashkaa: You will try. I want an appointment for it, in your calendar, with me as an invitee, before I will sign off on your survey mission.
Sadar: Response
Jashkaa: ::pursing her lips in a subtle show of amusement:: Don’t worry, I won’t attend.
