As the crowd dispersed the trio were able to place their orders without issue, Natasha opted for a scoop of both flavors on a cone. Sam held her brightly colored pink and blue cone covered in silver star sprinkles and gestured towards a small empty table inside the shop.

She positioned herself so the door and counter were both in her peripheral vision. Settling into the chair Natasha gave her cone a lick, the Mint chocolate of the Warp Core Breather paired surprisingly well with the raspberry, blackberry, and vanilla of the Nebula Swirl.

Richards: This is pretty good. Sprinkles leave a little something to be desired, but it’s not bad all in all.

Natasha let out a very satisfying sound as the cool ice cream sated the fire that had been slowly building across her taste buds. She looked at the cone and was grateful for the sweet and cool release it gave her from her main course decisions.

Cole: That is a shame, those are supposed to be the best part, next to whipped cream. ::smiling::

MacKenzie shrugged.

MacKenzie: Mine’s pretty good. Hits the spot after that hasparat.

Sam looked sheepishly between Natasha and MacKenzie and smiled.

Richards: Thanks for having dinner with me. ::Gesturing to the shop:: And ice cream. It’s been nice.

Cole: Anytime. ::licking her cone:: This has been fun.

MacKenzie: Agreed. I always look forward to trying new food.

Cole: Plus I appreciate the opportunity to make new friends. I hope I’m not overstepping by saying that. ::glancing between the two woman::

MacKenzie: ::holding up what remained of her cone in a toast-like gesture:: Our lucky day.

Richards: You can call me a friend. ::Smirking:: I could use a few of those.

Cole: oO sometimes I hate the lessons the Commander taught me. Oo

From where Natasha was sitting she noticed there was another crowd forming out front, tilting her head ever so slightly assessing the situation. Sometimes she just couldn’t shut down her passive observation. Here she was enjoying some downtime with friends and because it just happened to be in an unfamiliar environment to her, she was subconsciously on high alert.

Cole: ::nodding towards the crowd:: Looks like we timed it just right between their rushes.

MacKenzie: ::holding up what remained of her cone in a toast-like gesture:: Our lucky day.

Richards: ::Rubbing her belly:: Ope, seems like they like it too.

MacKenzie continued to eat her cone, eventually chomping away at bits of the waffle cone itself until finally she popped the last bit of it in her mouth and wiped away remnants of the raspberry that had stained the corners of her mouth.

MacKenzie: That hit the spot.

Richards: Agreed. What a way to end the evening.

Cole: It was a great call, the ice cream.

MacKenzie: What do you two have planned for the rest of your evening?

Richards: ::Chuckling:: I haven’t thought that far ahead yet.

Sam glanced at Natasha, awaiting her response.

Cole: I think I might take a walk around the promenades for a bit. See what things I can find.

The commanding officer of the Artemis stood and smoothed the front of her slacks.

MacKenzie: Unfortunately I’ve got a few reports that need my attention before the end of the night, so this is where I take my leave. ::bowing slightly:: Thank you for the meal and the company. Next time, maybe a milder version of hasparat…

She offered a slight smirk to Ensign Cole as she wiped the corners of her mouth one more time and moved back in the direction of the Artemis.

Cole: ::let out a small laugh with a smile:: I’ll have to consider that.

Sam smiled as she eased herself up off the chair.

Richards: Have a good night Nat. ::Pointing towards her:: We have to do something again together before we leave 224.

Cole: Absolutely let me know when and where. :smiling:: G’night Sam.

Natasha watched as the two women left and disappeared into the crowds outside. She sat there for another few moments watching the crowd while finishing her ice cream.

END Scene for Natasha.
